Trading and Pricing Financial Derivatives: A Guide to Futures, Options, and Swaps, Second Edition

Very thorough and detailed explanations!

I have gone through numerous finance textbooks and find this to be the most comprehensive and most accessible text on derivatives. I teach an advanced derivatives course (grad and undergrad combined) based on this text. The book is very easy to follow and it is "complete", it is very much to the point and very clear. The book explains to the reader the fascinating world of derivatives and assumes no knowledge of derivatives beforehand. This book is not just an introduction to the subject, it starts by assuming that the reader does not have any background on the subject but it goes quite deeply into all of the instruments. While it is an academic book with a series of questions at the end of each chapter, it is also clearly written by authors with experience in trading derivatives. The chapter on dynamic hedging, and how options can be replicated by trading the underlying instrument is the best explanation on that topic that I have read. The book explains complex topics in plain English that I find really helps students. I would strongly recommend it to someone teaching a University level derivatives class, or to an investor who wishes to learn how derivatives work.

I came out of reading the first page of your book with so much information I was aghast. I had recently paused on reading the intelligent investor, a book recommended by Buffet, but it did not shed any information on the various instruments and how they work. Thank you for writing your book and thank you for the content you put out, you're the only one doing this and you're really shining a light on finance

These two instructors, with over two decades of experience in the financial sector, know exactly what they are talking about. Both graduates of a prestigious business school, if you want to know anything about derivatives, they are your experts.

I really loved this book. It is easy to understand and contains most things that a junior financial engineer should know. I think it is a good starting point for anyone who wants to be a quantitative analyst/developer and has never been exposed to the financial world before.

Used it as my textbook. Really straightforward and well-structured, and it's the first time I found derivatives so interesting. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested in derivatives and strategies!!!
