Star Trek Movie Deluxe Dress Costume

I was a little hesitant to purchase this costume. Based on reviews for this item, from this listing and others, I was under the impression this "dress" was simply an oversized, boxy t-shirt that didn't cover your money-maker. In reality, this dress is anything but! Really, people likely just got the sizing way off. I'm 5'8", and about 120 pounds. I've got a really long torso, so my hips start pretty low. Regardless, I usually buy size medium or 2-6. I got this dress in an extra-small and am pleased to report it's fitted, not boxy, and long enough to cover my bum. I believe women reporting a sour experience simply bought the wrong or too large a size. Read the charts! If not here then on red rubie's site. It will go miles in terms of your experience.Material is not as cheap as I thought it would be, but still pretty sheer in bright lighting.All in all, great, but misunderstood product! Cannot wait to wear it!

Bought for my date. I took the advice of many of the other reviewers and got a size down, which was a small. She is 5'4 and wears like a size 10 pants. I was worried that it would look baggy as some had described it as such. But, it was PERFECT for her. She didn't like how short it was, but I thought it was fine. She choose to wear some sort of nylon or spandex type pants under them. But, she definitely was a knock out in it. It suited her hour glass figure well.Caution: The red dye will come off onto and stain Any lighter color material you sit or lie on.This was a perfect option for a one night halloween costume. But, if you are wanting to do cosplay and wear this thing on a regular basis - I would consider saving up for the more expensive replica from Anovos.

I received my Star Trek 2009 Uhura costume today. The shipping was prompt and product arrived in nice packaging. I ordered an X-Small (I am 5'0", 95 lbs., Size 4) and the dress was a little baggy on me. So I am in the process of altering it. I am taking in the back of the dress (it looks like there could be a zipper so it doesn't look funny) and the arm holes. Other than that it fits well and looks super sexy! I am going to buy an Engineering pin to cover the one that is embroidered on the dress. It is also quite see through so nude undergarments are a must. I am also going to buy a pair of black go-go boots to wear with the dress. Can't wait for Halloween!!

Cute and simple little outfit. It does run a little short in length, so I will be wearing shorts underneath. I do wish that the Star Trek logo looked a little bit more official (perhaps a metal pin) rather than something that looks quickly sewn in, especially for the price. I found the sizing chart to be pretty accurate. Btw, I noticed in bright lighting, the material is somewhat sheer, so you may want to wear another layer underneath. This shouldn't be a problem if you're going to be in dim lighting all throughout. There's no half stars - I proabably would have picked 3.5 stars instead of 4 only because for the price, you don't get a lot of material. Overall, I'm still satisfied with the product.

I purchased this costume, 1. because i love star trek. and 2. i wanted a costume that was kinda sexy, but work appropriate.I did as the other reviewers did, and ordered a size smaller than i normally get. I am 5'6", and about 145. I normally wear a large, but i did order a medium. And the medium fit quite well.It was a bit loose in the middle, i almost wanted to take it in a bit, but for the most part it was quite flattering.For a halloween costume, it really was not that short. It was work appropriate, and i did wear it with tights, but that was due to the cold weather, not the length of the dress.The material of the dress was nice, and has a pleasant feel. The craftman ship was also nice, and it really does feel like a dress that can be worn again and again.I would highly recommend this. :]

After reading other reviews, I knew what I was in for, so I am not surprised that I would be visiting my favorite seamstress after I got the costume. The fabric is decent, perhaps a little thinner and shinier than I'd like. The top half fits an XS perfectly. However, from the waist down, it is cut very straight (boxy) and larger than XS by at least 1-2 standard dress sizes. So, if you have an hour glass type figure, do not expect it to fit without alterations. Also, it is about as short as is shown on the model for a 5'8" person.

They run a little on the large side, but other than that, it is a very cute costume. I wore it to a party with some black boots and a ponytail, and my Trekkie boyfriend loved it! I also thought this costume was comfortable, but thin. I needed a jacket with it and wore some leggings because it was a little see-through in direct light.

I bought this for ComicCon and it looks great, but it were really an Extra small. I am 5'3", 125 lbs and it was hanging off of me. The lenght was perfect. With that in mind, if you are over 5'5" or have long legs, you're gonna have to wear leggings or something because this hit upper mid thigh on me and i'm short.

i oldered a size XS for 30 year old girl, because she is on the petite side, over the years i got her a few outfits, small or extra small and sometimes she has to make a little adjustment,and normally alls well but she side this dress was a small or a medium, and in the end gave it to a friend of hers who was a medium, she let it out about one and a half inches and apparently it's fits like a glove,

The material is very thin and the dress is very short but it does look the part. I wore a firm control shaping dress underneath to add some length to the bottom, to keep me warm and to suck in all my lady lumps as the dress isn’t very forgiving (you can see it in my picture, it’s the black bit at the bottom which added about 3 inches to the length). It does look very much like the original Uhura dress though and hers was quite short too.

Bought in a rush as the previous costume I bought was so poor. This arrived in time and well packaged. I used the size guide when ordering but it was a little too big for me around the middle, but a black belt sorted it. Material was not very breathable for a fancy dress party, but it did the job and looked the part.

Going to a comic con in either August or November so I wanted a purse friendly Star Trek costume. I was hesitant because of some negative reviews but glad I ordered this! I like the material and it is really comfortable to wear. Screen accuracy is not 100% but if you like the JJ Trek movies you'll like this. I'm very short, about 5ft and size 8 and it fits me well, not baggy or too tight. Comes to about 4in above my knees on me but will be pretty short on tall girls! Wash in cold water first to stop the colour transferring.

Ordered for fancy dress party. Quite short but I am 5ft 8. Material is nice not too scratchy or anything.
