Refreshing
I really enjoyed this book. As someone who is a big fan of Women Who Run with the Wolves,I found this book not only to be a great refresher of many of those core principles around intuition, authenticity, and reclaiming your inner voice, but also a unique and modern take on them. The writing flows beautifully, making it a real pleasure to read it feels conversational, honest, and engaging throughout. Although Iโm not a religious person anymore, I still found the book funny and very relatable, even when she talks about her past experiences with Christianity. Her reflections feel human and accessible rather than preachy, which made it easy to connect with her story. Overall, itโs an inspiring and thoughtful read that stayed with me.

Incredible!!!!!
Ok, this is my new favourite book!!!!!!!!!! When reading this book, I had so many realisations about things in my mind & in the world. I think I highlighted something in every single chapter, even whole pages!! I felt like the words that I were reading were pretty much my own words, I resonated with some many things in this book. Glennon talks about what it's like to truly love and trust your whole self and about how to find it by listening to our bodies & mind, she talks about how society is shaping and affecting the way woman see & feel about themselves. We are taught by society, how to be, feel, act, look and we don't even realise it. Boys are still being taught that real men are big, violent, invulnerable, disgusted by femininity, and responsible for conquering women and the world. When girls are still being taught that real women must be quiet, pretty, small, passive and desirable so they'll be worthy of being conquered. We are all caged , this book is about how to get out of that cage. A few words I've loved in this book; โจFreedom is not being for or against an ideal, but creating your own existence from scratch โจWe need to be brave, brave is not asking the crown what is brave. Brave is deciding for oneself โจWe should not owe each anything other than admiration, respect and love โจSelf love means that I have a real relationship with myself built on trust and loyalty. I trust myself to have my own back, so my allegiance is to the voice within. I'll abandon everyone else's expectations of me before I'll abandon myself. I'll disappoint everyone else before I'll disappoint myself. I'll forsake all other before I'll forsake myself. What the world needs is more women who have quit fearing themselves and started trusting themselves. What the world needs is masses of women who are entirely out of control. If you haven't read this book then you NEED TO RIGHT NOW!!! ๐คฉ๐๐

Believe the Hype
I have consciously avoided this book because come on if its pushed by celebrities it's bound to be shallow and trite...right? WRONG!! In Glennon I found my people. Short snappy chapters filled with glistening gems of wisdom and truth waiting to be discovered. I spent half my time planning who I should give this book to and the other half remembering its my job to do me and let others do them. Thank you Glennon Doyle from the deepest part of my soul, for helping me remember that those deep pits of depression, those body shaking anxiety attacks are the essence of helping create the human that is me. My Knowing can be trusted.

Such a gorgeous, important book
This was such a brilliant, beautiful book. I read it along with listening to the audiobook recorded by Glennon herself and I would recommend both formats - it's powerful hearing her read her own words and also useful to be able to go back and reread, highlight and make notes on the physical copy! I found that I took so much away from reading this and I immediately passed it on to my mum to read too. I can tell I will be gifting it to other important people in my life. Glennon, you have helped me to see the importance of working out what the most beautiful, loveliest version of myself is and made me feel like it's okay to work towards that. And your words from the primary school classroom, 'we can do hard things', have helped me so much in dealing with my depression and helping loved ones with their own struggles. Thank you for reminding me it's okay to just sit outside their door while they feel their feelings and be there for them when it's time. And thank you for writing so beautifully about your love for Abby and for your children. As someone who hopes to have a family one day with a woman who I love, your writing has given me glimpses into a life I could never have dreamed was possible only a short while ago - and made me feel that it is okay for me to pursue and build and defend that life. Thank you, thank you

Didnโt match the hype for me...
Before starting this blog Iโd never heard of Glennon Doyle before, then came to learn she is Abby Wambachโs wife and it pricked my attention along with all the hype it is getting. โโโโโโโโ It touches on a variety of subjects aside of her own experiences such as divorce, sexuality, blended families, raising children, racism, activism, spirituality, feminism, addiction and mental health. * Glennon tells the second half of her story in her latest book, in a way that is quite raw and honest. Whilst also acting as a self-help book. For me part 1 and 2 came across a little preachy and I didnโt feel I learnt/was enlightened much by its content throughout. * I have to say that Glennon and Abbyโs story does pull on the old heartstrings and is a fairytale in some respects, which I appreciated and enjoyed. * All in all not a bad book, yet not one Iโll rave about to others. However, it is a book full of energy and passion in the authors writing, a bit of a rallying call (for the right audience). โโโโโโโโโ Key take aways: - What is most important is what you think of yourself and being the best version of you (that you can be) - Pleasing others doesnโt always lead to pleasing yourself - Pain can fuel revolution (change) - Form your own values rather than those set by social constructs - Life isnโt easy but it sure as hell can be worth it, by focusing on what you want it to be and letting go of fairytales and expectations

An unputdownable WOW of a book! An absolute must-read!
Wow! I think Glennon Doyle is one of the absolute best writers of our time. I am new to her work and this is the first book of hers that I've read, but THIS. BOOK. IS. EVERYTHING! It's a book about trust, truth and knowing. It's a book about removing the shackles of should to be free, wild and untamed. And it's a book about allowing our children to be brave too. Untamed is peppered with powerful truth bombs alongside gentle helpful reminders. I love this book so much and I love Abby and Glennon's love. I love the encouragement, the 'Aha-moments and wows and nudges, I love the true and authentic realness, the courageous honesty and the recognition and celebration of the Knowing. Thank you Glennon for reminding us to listen to the knowing nudges and lean away from the self-abandonment. Thank you Abby and Craig and everyone else Glennon thanks in the book for being you. Knowing that the snow will one day settle offers hope. What a gift!

The book of life
I am not one to write reviews but Untamed by Glennon Doyle has moved me to write one. This book is everything that women should learn from. From reading the opening chapters on the caged cheetah, I could feel my awareness growing. This book shows how women have placed themselves and been placed by others into a role and this book blows the roles right out of the water. I faced a whole range of emotions whilst reading this book, but mostly I feel fired up to treat myself better and kinder. I have recommended the book to many, many women and will be buying it for my book club when it is my turn. On an aside, Glennon and Abby's Instagram pages are just wonderful and carry on all of the positive thoughts and beliefs that you find in Untamed. The book of the year which I know I will come back to many, many times. Thank you Glennon for opening my eyes to another potential life and being.

Perfect condition, but mailing was a little slow
Book came in perfect condition, but it was a few days later than the estimate given. It's worth keeping that in mind if you order, as the books ship from the UK.
