This Rubbermaid Deskside Plastic Rectangular Wastebasket does what it is made for. It's small enough (3.5 gallon capacity) to fit under a desk, or in a cupboard under a sink, as I am using it. A standard 4 gallon trash bags fit perfectly inside with 2 inches to spare and fold neatly over the top of the basket. Cleaning with a disinfecting wipe is quick and easy as there are no oddly shaped corners or angles. The basket measures 8.5" by 11.5" across the top, then tapers down to 6.5"x10" at the bottom. It stands 12" tall. I actually took a tape measure to get those numbers, going by past answers it is possible that the size has changed in recent years. Bottom line, if you're looking for a small wastebasket, either for trash or recycling, this one works like a charm. It isn't meant to hold a full household's worth of trash, but it works well for this single person.

I received the product in February. I have no issues with the product. It performs great indoors & outdoors. I drive it in my allotment and there are 2 steep hills to climb and it performed beautifully. I had a defective part on the front one of the wheel hub, but the supplier air freighted a replacement part that I installed in about 5 minutes. So, hats off to the supplier. So, after 6 months of use I definitely would rate the product as a 5.
