A great buy for the money
Agreat cheap mouthpiece with a good tone & feel. Size is not marked on the mouthpiece or box so make sure you or your kid is prepared to answer that question when the band director inevitably asks. Our kids school determines instrument on directors recommendation, so we wanted to get him something to familiarize with while not making a significant investment in case he was given his secondary choice. Edit, A year later— this mouthpiece served perfectly. kid crushed his first year in a fantastic program with a tough director who never asked a peep about the mouthpiece (she will require better equip if it’s sub par). I also play euph in our adult community band and I really like this mouthpiece. I’m back to look for a large bore spare if they make one.

Fantastic price for a great mouth piece!
My son transitioned from trumpet to euphonium recently. School supplies the euphonium so I had to furnish the mouth piece. Since his instrument was a yamaha I decided to buy him a 48sl to ease his transition. His teacher was recommending a 6.5 al. So when I purchased his 48sl I also purchased this 6.5 al for him also since it's only $11 after coupon. Needless to say his director liked the 6.5 al better. (I played on a blessing 12c for many years which is a 1/3 of a Bach price also) I would highly recommend this mouth piece. The quality is there. Still a little shocked it was so cheap. Why these band directors think you have to buy the most expensive thing out there is beyond me. Plus all the trombone players keep wanting to trade mouth pieces with him.

2nd time buyer.
First bought this for my daughter back in 2018. She just asked me to buy her another one. When I asked her if she wanted me to get something else, she asked me to get the same one. I suppose that is a testimony to this product. My daughter is an avid and award-winning trombonist who uses her trombone a lot. Good value.

As far as I can tell
I don’t have any clue on how to ascertain quality, but it did the job for the three months I needed it too before my son switched instruments

Really nice mouthpiece
Perfect mouthpiece. Beautifully matches the tone of my son‘s trombone. He loves that it matches, and that it is different from what everybody else has.

This has no business being this good.
So I'm a professional trombonist and bought this for my alto trombone, which is what it's intended for. My alto is also from Amazon, I had bought it back in college for a brief stint in Orchestra. I had seen this for dirt cheap and thought I might as well give it a go. I can't verify if it's actually gold or what it's made of underneath. The description says it's made of brass with the title saying it's made of copper and gold plated??? Pretty unclear. I will say that the plate is very reminiscent of other gold mouthpieces and feels good and smooth to the touch. Time will tell if it's made to last. The design itself is sound. I think it may be a smidge bigger than a 6 1/2 as it doesn't feel too dissimilar from my 5gs but I don't have a Bach 6 1/2 to compare. I think it feels great on the face and I got a great sound on my alto. You could probably play this on a small bore tenor and have a good time too. My only complaint is the lack luster shipping. For such a cheap product it's not as egregious but mouthpieces desperately need to be shipping with bubble mailers. This came in a paper box inside a paper envelope. Fortunately it came in good shape. Can definitely recommend to anyone looking for a simple small shank mouthpiece.

solid mouthpiece with no weird metallic taste
My son is pleased with the sound produced. He says the size and solid sturdiness of the mouth piece is good quality. He also mentioned that it didn't taste funny or weird so I guess that is good to know too.
