The vise is heavy cast iron but not as precision milled as it could be. The top movable jaw has about .044" back and forth play, which is not unusual,but in order for the vertical "V's" in the jaws to align correctly, the top jaw has to be pushed all the way to one side. The horizontal "V's" do not align good either because the top jaw's V is higher than the bottom jaw's. There is no way to adjust the height of the top jaw. The top jaw could be aligned sideways, for the vertical V's to come together better, if the round spacer bolted to the bottom of the top jaw had it's hole drilled offset. Then by turning the spacer, the top jaw would move side to side. Or, it could just be machined correctly in the first place.

Back side of the tilting jaw is grind flat and it should be round, so it is not good for holding parts with small angle. I will test it and decide if I am going to keep it or return it.

Received a different model than the one shown. This model did not come with a bar to insert into the knurled knob making it difficult to tighten properly.
