Thread Folk: A Step-by-Step Guide to 15 Modern Embroidery Projects Kindle Edition

Just signed up for an evening embroidery course and thought I would buy a book to inspire me and help me learn stitches. When I saw Thread Folk, I knew it was exactly what I needed. Great explanation of stitches and color guides. I fell in love with the "plant life" wreath pattern, but now I think I'll start with the confetti pattern. So colorful and fun!

Edit: After sitting down for a good read, I love this books so much! It will get begining embroiderers excited to start and experienced ones ideas for new projects. The pages are absolutely gorgeous. You can tell how much love and hard work went into each page. I would amend that it is not just geared toward new stitchers, but does set a firm foundation for beginners. So excited to get to work. This book has some great patterns and little doodads. This is definitely geared toward beginning stitchers, but the patterns are super cute!

I’m in love with this book! It’s gorgeous, high quality, and an amazing value (so many patterns!). I have a couple other embroidery art books and I really like a few patterns from each, but probably won’t make most of the projects in them. Not so with this one! I love every single pattern in this book - I’m so excited to make these pieces for myself and friends! It’s also worth noting that other embroidery books I’ve found seem to be geared toward beginners, but this one is great for beginners and novice embroiders alike. So glad I got it!

Loved this book! It was easy to use, and as a beginner with a history of sewing, I can catch into it fast. There are definitely some simpler patterns, and then some that are more complex, or challenge your ability to make stitches evenly across a whole piece.Only a 4/7 because some of the patterns are missing a floss color, or don’t mention you’ll need three skeins of a certain color, so be aware when you’re working through a pattern.

I am SO glad I bought the book instead of Kindle one. The book is so beautiful and I can feel the author puta lot of love in it, thank you Libby :)I'm a beginner, this is my first embroidery book, the instructions is easy to understand that is very importantfor me (beginner :) )Can't wait to start my first embroidery with this book. I'm a new embroiderer and this purchase was my first pattern book. I've been enjoying it already made a few as gifts and currently working on one for myself. I work for a craft and hobby publishing company, so I will say I hoped some designs had more photos in the step-by-step instructions, or at least more than 1 close-up. Some of the directions are misleading and vague, and I noticed what's being instructed isn't what's actually shown. For example, I'm currently working on an abstract design that calls for "brick-like backstitches," but the stitch in the design looks completely different, almost like chain stitches, but not? I still can't tell what it is or how it's done, but it's definitely not a backstitch like the directions say. Either way, I'm still having fun with it and making my own personal twists that are different from the designs, but there could be a bit more clear direction.

This book is absolutely beautiful!Not only the patterns are GORGEOUS and well explained but the design and quality of the book are incredible as well. You can really appreciate how much love and work were put into it.The stitch guide is very clear and it includes several different stitches.It also includes many small hoop-less patterns that look fun and beautiful to create.I can not wait to start stitching these patterns and decorate my walls with them!

When I left for the dentist today I was spoiled with this glorious book!! Flicking through it on the bus and in the waiting room has been the highlight of my day!! I’ve purchased a couple of Libby’s pattern and loved everything she’s created and this book is no different, with heaps of tips and explanations and a couple of spectacular patterns! Would definitely recommend this book for all levels of embroidery skill!

This is a beautifully put-together book with easy-to-follow instructions. Libby Moore’s creative designs and collaborations with other artists are stunning.

This book contains some gorgeous projects that have been thoughtfully put together. There are some smaller motief works for if you don't have time for the larger pieces. They look quite mindful in comforting colour pellets.

What a beautiful design and colour. I brought up with my mother's embroidered clothes. I like the embroidery generally but I did not want to decorate my house and clothes with good old French style designed embroidery. Her style of embroidery design is something new and bit boho style, and I love it. The book is probably not for an absolute beginner but you can still look through the beautiful design to inspire you.

It has a lot of great ideas.
