Howard Restor-A-Finish Cherry RF9016 Restore the Original Finish Remove Heat and Stain Marks on Wooden Furniture 473ml

Super easy and quick to apply - I did it with fine steel wool and marigold on, just rubbed it in and dried it off and it made such a difference, no sanding necessary.Note: please do it in a well ventilated area, as I didn't and got light headed fast

Used this to cosmetically restore a pair of vintage Celestion Ditton 120 loudspeakers. The veneer had significant bleaching, rings and scratches but after watching a couple of how to videos on youtube I decided to give it a go.Used the Cherry finish, applied with 0000 gauge wire wool, gently rubbing in the direction of the grain and was blown away by the difference, the speakers look as good as new...!

It does what it says - restores furniture. Leaves a nice glossy shine. Some superficial marks disappear but others remain. I don’t have the time at present to use wire wool to get rid of deeper marks.

Great better than expected

The before doesn’t do justice to how dry & grey parts of the mantle were from water damage. A little sanding on some bits and gentle hoover all over was all that was needed before using Howard’s. We used the Cherry colour to add a boost of warmth, which has worked really well. It’s so, so easy to use, just follow the instructions and in half an hour you have a new bit of furniture!

Got a lovely finish after two coats on an old dining table. Easy to apply using a cloth, much easier than staining/varnishing with a brush, when the odd bristle always manages to fall out!The only thing I dislike intensely, hence only 4 stars, is the Press and Turn can top. In my experiences with these tops they always, sooner or later, fail to operate correctly.

We were going to replace our tall unit which displays the various items. The unit is made of cherry wood with a matching large oval table extendable and chairs. Worked out replacement cost having had this unit over 20yrs which would have been silly and not half as nice with the bulky furniture all you can get at the moment. Tried a furniture restorer to buff out minor scratches and chips......but no interested. So after a lot of reviewing sent off for this restor finish. Pouring of rain this afternoon so thought would get to work on the unit. Followed the instructions on the tin and got 0000 wire wool to use if required. and WOW it came up as NEW. There are a couple of deeper scratches to go over again to try and get rid of.....to be worked on as yet.. Then went to work on the oval extending table and it really came up like new with a lovely shine. Have sent off for some feed and wax to coat it in today. Really good stuff well pleased would have no hesitation in saying it was really excellent. Have enough to do the six chairs with it now but will do them when I get them recovered. full marks out of 10.

Revived sun damaged western red cedar timber blinds . Put it on timber internal doors as well. Easy to apply on a rug . Timber drinks it in. Dont need to use a lot . Liquid formula gives good coverage . Tin will last us for ages . Excellent product

My kitchen cabinets, made of cherry plywood, are about 50 years old. They were in such horrible condition that I was thinking of painting them. There were large areas of that were missing not only the surface finish, but even the stain. In other words, they were down to bare wood in spots. I panicked when a realtor made an appointment to evaluate my house the next day!I wasn't sure if Howard's Restor-a-Finish would work after watching a YouTube video called "Where Restore-A-Finish works best and where it will not!" That video states that it will only work on shellac or lacquer finishes. It says it won't work on polyurethane or polyacrylic finishes and that the test for those finishes is to apply some alcohol to the finish and rub it with a swab---if the color comes off, Restor-a-Finish WILL work on it. I did that test and no color came off. I decided to proceed anyway, testing Restor-a-Finish on the the back of a door. That went well, so I applied it to all 14 cabinets and 6 drawers.The result was amazing. I couldn't believe my eyes. The parts that were worn down to bare wood were about 75% improved---not perfect, but much, much better. The remainder, where the finish was worn but the color was still there, were 100% better. The sheen is a pleasant sort of "egg shell," not flat but not too shiny either. The realtor didn't notice anything amiss with the cabinets!I was lazy and didn't even wash the cabinets before starting. They still came out great. The best part is that the whole job took less than one hour! I don't know how this product works, but it does. It's like magic. One caveat: it smells pretty bad, so do open a window, but the smell disappeared quickly after the job was done. I spilled some on the floor tiles and it wiped up easily.Definitely one of my best Amazon purchases. It saved me a huge amount of money and/or time and probably added to the value of my house.
