Amazing product
I don’t use chemicals on our property anymore for the safety of out animals and the wildlife. This product is amazing. Not only does it mix well with soul, it helps keep my plants and flowers moist and around the area is weed free wherever this is! I love it! Mix it with the soil your planting in! I also planted seeds and bulbs outside and mixed this in and they grew beautifully!

Good quality coir
Good quality coconut coir. I have a small worm farm of European worms. This coir works well to get them sorted and divided after a long Winter.

Great stuff … not enough
The product is excellent and delivers as most coir products when it comes to potted/potting plants - the media for growing things (with soil supplements) consistently outperforms garden soil - clay for me. :/Purchased this based on price thinking it was a great deal only to find it being half the size I’d purchased the year before. After blending (50/50), it filled just over four one-gallon pots. I’m using 20 pots in this year’s garden, most bigger than a gallon … seriously not enough. Will buy again in the future, but only in 10 lb. sizes.

5 pounds divided into 4 compressed bricks.
Put 1 brick in a 5 gallon bucket and add a gallon or two of water. Leave to sit awhile. It'll be soft and fluffy when you get back. I like that it's mostly finely ground with fairly few of the long strings. Mixed with compost it makes a great seed starter soil.

Great substitute for peat, and my plants love it!
I’m really impressed with this coco coir. I use it to add to soils for my succulents, cacti, houseplants and trees. It’s environmentally friendly, which is nice as an alternative to peat moss. It’s difficult to divide, if you’re not using a whole brick at a time, but I’ve found a saw works well to divide the bricks. If you’re using bricks at a time, just add water and stir for a great soil mix for tropicals by itself, or as a soil additive.I mix 50% of this with 50% perlite as a soil mix to germinate seeds, and have great success. It falls apart fairly easily when you’re transplanting, so you have easier access to just the plant and root structure.Additionally, some reviews mentioned a chemical smell. I do not have this issue. My coco coir dried bricks have no noticeable smell, and only smell like wet coconut husks when moist. My plants love this, so I’m satisfied with the product. I’ll definitely be buying more when I run out.

Clean product with 100% expansion
My order arrived as a pack of 4 blocks at 1.25 lbs each. I put them in my wheelbarrow, added water, waited about an hour, and then I had a barrow full of clean coir material. I didn't see any other type of material or contaminants. I used it to amend the soil in a my raised beds outside along with some perlite. The beds are full and healthy and I'm having to water less often. I'm glad products like these are available as an alternative to non-renewable peat.

Good quality and value
Using this Coco Coir as 1/4 of my vegetable garden container blend, which is also 1/4 used, sifted potting soil, and 1/4 my sifted homemade compost, plus some Perlite and mushroom compost. Also I add liquid nutrients periodically as recommended, with very good results. My small cement mixer is really handy for blending components.
