Hayward SPX1600D Strainer Cover Replacement for Hayward Superpump

I chose to pay more for this original part instead of a cheaper one also sold on Amazon. It's worth it; this is a quality product, perfect fit and water-tight seal. Took me 5 mins to replace the old leaky cover with this one. Problem solved.

In my haist I ordered a cheaper cover and it worked till I had to clean the debris filter then could not get a good seal. Go ahead and pay the extra and get the right product, will save you a lot of time and pain.

Made of quality material. Fits perfectly on my pool pump. No complaints.

The item meets my expectations. I've gotten three of these over the years. The first one broke within three years, and so did the second. I'll let you know if this exceeds my expectations in two more years.

Been battling air bubbles in the pool jets for a while. Started by changing the lid gasket and the plugs in my Hayward Superpump. Finally got down to the lid which was the more expensive part that could have been causing the leak on the suction side. Oh man, wish I would have started with this, solved it instantly. If you look at the pics I posted, the old lid which is over 6 years old maybe more I can’t remember, was beat up and had a crack near the rear. I didn’t really think much of it but I guess it was sucking air. Put the new one in and no more air at the bleeder after a few hours! What a relief, finally found the cause. Also this was the best price I found online for a genuine Hayward lid. Awesome, thank you!

I am done ordering off brand parts for my pool cleaner, pumps and other equipment. I am constantly ordering replacement parts from the million of suppliers that state they offer the same as the genuine item. Most of these parts never work or are destined to fail quickly. My advice is to pay a bit more and know you are using the 'real' thing.
