It has a distinct odor (rubbery or chemical-like) from the silicon part of the lid. It is quite strong. How am I supposed to get rid of this?

Mine didn’t have an odor that I can remember. I would try soaking it in water and dawn dish liquid for a few hours. If that doesn’t help maybe ask for an exchange. I ordered three and love them. It kept my water cold as ice for 12 hours. The longer you leave it in the fridge the longer the water stays cooler I noticed.
