Nauticalia 2944 Greenwich Meridian Pocket Watch, 5 cm

I have to be honest, I thought that this would be a flimsy bit of old tat. I was looking for a replacement for my recently deceased 'real' pocket watch from the 1900s, but wanted a new one as the old movements are just too unreliable these days, and cost a fortune to have serviced. I took a punter as is was only twenty quid, but...it's heavy, the glass is, wait for it, actually glass, and it definitely looks the part, and let's face it, that's what matters 😉. It not mechanical, obviously, but who cares at this price. I've seen these for sale in other places for double what I paid, so, nice one.

So far so good - more accurate than some of my more expensive time pieces 🤫 They just need to give it a proper chain and loop hook.

Talk about sparse presentation , no instructions or tips on care etc , with some research found out this has a 'screw back' which with many attempts finally came off , it's good sense to Oil the thread on the case , seems very robust & a great smell of genuine Brass , a Japanese quartz move' makes for a good timepiece , very pleased with this , could not have done better !

My only complaint is the clip on the chain , is very small and fidgety, otherwise it’s a lovely watch !!
