Country Life Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D 120 Tabs

I take half (500 mg) the recommended daily dose hoping to help my bones but not hurt my heart, kidneys, colon, etc. The jury is out on calcium supplements' absorption, and I know it is better to get your vitamins through your food, but it is difficult day in and day out to eat enough calcium-rich foods without over eating, so I'm banking on this little boost. My doctor approves.

I have a subscription for these. I can’t have any dairy at all.. highly allergic. It is hard to find a calcium with no dairy. I have been using these for 2 years now... Can’t complain.

I supplement with this calcium because even the smallest amount of magnesium causes diarrhea for me. I take one pill a day usually at night with a glass of fat free milk and at 74 yrs Iv'e never broken a bone or had osteo p. I also make sure I get plenty of omega 3's in MCT and Cod Liver oil by Carlson. Very good for skin, bones, hair, and the brain.

I've used this brand of calcium for years for the following reasons:1. It is in the form of calcium citrate, one of the most easily assimilated forms of calcium.2. It also contains vitamin D, which helps the body utilize calcium.3. The pills are smooth and narrow, which makes them easier to swallow.Within the last five years, my doctor told me that, according to recent research, I should not take the 1500 mg/day of calcium I used to take but decrease it to 750-100 mg. Therefore I now take two of these 500 mg. tablets per day.The label states that this product is certified gluten-free and is "Kosher Parve." It contains no wheat, soy, gluten, milk, salt, preservatives or artificial color. It is certified vegan. Other than calcium citrate and vitamin D, it contains "stearic acid, cellulose & glycerin coating, silica, magnesium stearate, and vegetable glaze."

Ok but too big and I typically don't have issues with large medications.

I didn't notice that I had purchased the wrong type I wanted. By the time I did the return window had closed. I had bariatric surgery and needed the chewable version, this type right here, is not even suitable for a regular person to swallow! This pill is huge and very uncomfortable to try to swallow.

It’s got the good stuff without the bad. But beware, these are BIG PILLS. Yes they’re coated but I found them not so easy to swallow. I’m wondering if they’ll even digest.
