Great for kickstarting a sick kitty's appetite
This is my go-to, never-fail cat treat for cats who are recovering from an illness or who need a little nudge to get to eating their food again. I am a volunteer hospice foster cat caretaker and sometimes this particular product is just the trick to get a kitty eating again. BE SURE TO CHECK WITH YOUR VETERINARIAN TO MAKE SURE THIS IS APPROPRIATE TO FEED YOUR CAT IF SHE HAS ANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS. When a cat has an incurable disease, and needs to eat something yummy to feel better, this fits the bill as a wonderful treat. Our foster hospice who passed away last year with a grossly enlarged heart and other incurable conditions absolutely loved this. It made him feel comfortable and happy. He would eat this when he couldn't keep anything else down, and it would instantly perk him up and get him feeling better. Any food is better than no food. The food itself is basically shredded fish and small shrimps in a fishy broth. It is NOT A NUTRITIONALLY COMPLETE CAT FOOD, so SHOULD NOT BE FED TO YOUR CAT AS SUCH. Cats require taurine in their diet, and this is a food that has had all of the taurine & vitamins cooked out of it. This should only be used to get a cat to start eating her own nutritionally complete cat food again. I've never seen any cat turn it down. It's not "stinky", but it does definitely have that semi-fishy odor that cats can't resist! Of all the varieties of Fancy Feast Appetizers, this is the one that consistently is a hit among the sick cats I take care of. Just don't feed it as a regular food. It's basically "junk food" for cats. But it does get them eating again.

Excellent cat food, no fillers, all natural. My act loves it!
I have experimented feeding my cat all sorts of different varieties and brands of wet cat food. I have tried feeding him the regular entrees, pates and other cat food that is made with fillers and by-products. Then I bought him an expensive brand made with venizon and no grains - he would not touch it. He tends to like the Purina salmon and shrimp entree most, but when I read the label, I noticed that it contains nitrates to preserve freshness. If nitrates are bad for humans, they would be bad for cats as well. Even though people would argue that cats in the wild eat all sorts of stuff, I am not sure what long-term impact would industrial preservatives, fillers and by-products have on my cat's health. Then one day I decided to try the Purina Fancy Feast food. Even though it is double the price of regular cat food, I decided to buy it at the local grocery store. My cat just loved it! Ever since I started feeding him this food, he does not want to eat the pates and other ground up cat food. The Fancy Feast food comes with real pieces of meat (not ground up stuff) and there are no fillers, by-products or preservatives. My cat would not have enough of it.

Great food option when price is right
My cat has been switched to a wet food only diet to ensure she's getting enough liquid in her diet. My vet said I could go the expensive route by getting the kidney diet food but she said moisture rich wet food is fine, too. My cat has had several flavors of this food and she's not a fan of the chicken although she will eat it - she seems to be a fish lover. This is by far one of her favorites. It looks pretty much like the picture on the package - there is only 1 shrimp in the serving size (in case you were wanting something heavy in shrimp). It's actually quite a scrumptious looking meal. My Wal-Mart sells only 2 flavors and they are $1.27/piece - occasionally Petsmart will sell them cheaper at $1.10/piece. So I choose to buy these online based on those prices - the price has fluctuated on these often since I've been getting them. Totally recommend, good quality, cat really enjoys them, would definitely purchase again if price is right.

So far, fantastic!
I have two cats....one who will anything and the other who used to eat just dry food until his teeth became a problem after which I needed to start feeding him wet food (and of course you can't feed one just dry and they other something "special"). After several ears of a variety of Fancy Feast pate options, I came across a deal on this one. It looked real and reminded me of Fancy Feast's Shrimp and Fish Flaked (cat loves it but the pieces are too big so I have to mush them up and it takes forever for him to eat). After just a few days, I am sold.....the pieces are real and SMALL and in broth (cat loves broth). It usually takes him going back and forth for a few hours to maybe get a full serving in him.....this one - he ate it in less than 30 minutes - all of it! My cat has been chronically underweight and it took me a year of careful watching and pushing food on him to get him to a point I didn;t think he would fall over in a stiff wind.....now, with this new option, and him really seeming to find it not only tasty but easy to eat, I am so hopeful I can get more weight back on him! Thank you for this option and this new vitamin enriched formula!

Mostly good with one drawback.
I like feeding my cat Purely Sea Bass and Shrimp because it is a whole food product, but I do not like that it contains tuna which is not mentioned in the name and feels like it has been sneaked into the recipe secretly. I don’t like feeding my cat tuna because it contains much mercury. My cat loves it.

Cat love!
My cats love the seafood flavor of this food. It does not look like cat food there is even a whole shrimp in it and there is no strong odor that I expected. The only negative is the price is quite steep but I think it is a higher quantity food, so I will continue to purchase!
