K1 MBBR Bio Media is a wheel shaped virgin polyethylene media with small exterior fins and 4 interior support structures. It is slightly positively buoyant, and becomes neutrally buoyant once bacteria colonize on its surface area. MBBR can be used in static media designs, but works best in fluidized beds where lightly churning water dislodges older bacteria allowing younger more vibrant bacteria to thrive.
