Just What I Needed
This pad does just what I need for physical therapy. I bought this one because it's exactly the height and type I use at PT sessions. The height is forcing me to get a recalcitrant leg to lift higher than it's been happy with; it's made the difference in my being able to get my foot over the shower stall rail without a struggle. At my last session the therapist had me use it for balance and movement purposes, and it's obvious that it works for that, too. Included with the pad was a large sheet with pictures and instructions for various exercises. Some were more for fitness than rehabilitation, so I don't plan to tackle them, but it seems to be a versatile product.

PTA Knows Best
I am a Physical Therapist Assistant by trade and utilize the Airex all the time to promote improved balance and muscle coordination both at work and at home. I had to have a surgery to my right leg recently and ordered my own Airex for rehabilitation purposes at home. I decided to order the smaller two as I can utilize them more in different ways to challenge myself further as I recover, including standing heel to toe in tandem stance. I can also utilize them as two during core exercises for planking and push ups when appropriate post rehabilitation. These are nice that they have a non skid aspect to them and better grip with the texture compared to the basic Airex. I will, at a later date, purchase the larger pad. LOVE THIS design!

The Airex Balance Pad Elite is Perfect for Standing Desks
Sometimes you are barefoot and don’t want to walk on your treadmill desk. Standing at a desk all day can be hell on your knees and feet. There’s a solution to this.Thank God for Mark and Frank telling me about this amazing lime green Airex Balance Pad Elite.Airex Balance Pad is Elite when it has this pattern on it.I don’t know if the $30 difference in price is worth it but I got a factory reject for the same price as the regular one. There are also lots of $12 knockoffs that I’m sure are just as good. I’m a brand whore. It’s really just a packaged rectangle of wrestling or gymnastics mat you’ll find in a high school or college gymnasium. When I’m not using it (actually using the treadmill desk for walking while working), it tucks away against the wall beside the tread.Perfect.And who doesn’t love a splash of lime green, am I right? As you can see, the pad is very thick and very light and while it’s supposed to be used in a similar fashion as the Bosu, my buddies Mark and Frank use it for extended standing like 8+ hour days at the standing desk cum LifeSpan treadmill desk. The Airex Balance Pad Elite pad is very thick and very light and while it’s supposed to be used in a similar fashion as the Bosu, my buddy Mark and Frank use it for extended standing like 8+ hour days at the standing desk cum LifeSpan treadmill desk. The price new is expensive but I was able to find an Amazon Warehouse discount of $30 for one that was perfect but the box was messed up some. Was worth it to me. This Works
After a hospital stay my 92 year old mother needed balance and endurance therapy. The balance beam although hard work for her, has helped a lot. This is worthwhile, I made it a rule she had to use it everyday. I set it up in the hallway and she walked sideways down and back, then rested and walked toe to heel down and back and then rested. Every week she improved, after 6 to 8 weeks she could do the whole routine and only needed to rest at the end of it and was walking around the house with her cane. There were other exercises we did everyday, but I felt this made the most difference.

Excellent balance pad
I had used this balancing pad in physical therapy, and decided to purchase one for use in my home exercise program after completing PT. It was a fine choice! -- large enough to use two-footed (I can even use it diagonally for a tandem stand, one foot directly in front of the other), and compact enough to store easily. I've also used it as a kneeling pad when cleaning the floor. I got my money's worth!

Fantastic product with many uses! Well worth the investment.
Absolutely the best purchase I have made. I so wish that I had had something like this for all the years I stood on a cement floor as a nurse in the operating room. It feels so good! I actually purchased this at the recommendtion of my physical therapist for plantar fasciitis. According to his information, using it to balance on one foot assists in changing your proprioception. This changes the way you balance and walk so that you are walking more correctly, and hence improves the pain from the fasciitis. The other benefit i have discovered is that my balance to yoga poses is greatly improved. I liked this product so much, I sent one to a family member who has back issues. She is using it for strengthening exercises, and loves it as much as I do!

It seems like a lot to pay for a 'bit of foam'
It seems like a lot to pay for a 'bit of foam', but I've tried many of the Airex alternatives found them all to be either too soft or too hard. There might be a version available for a fraction of the price, but I reckoned I'd spend more money searching for it than a 'real' Airex costs. So, I bought it. I've used one many times at the gym, so I knew what I was getting. Its great for balance exercises and some stretches I find essential after a day in front of a computer. Yes, the one I bought is likely to start cracking and flaking and need replaced. But, until it does I'll be using it most days.

Godsend for my standing desk
I've been a standing desk user for ~ 2 years. I always prefer standing but my feet used to get really sore, even when using an anti-fatigue mat. I also hate wearing shoes all the time and have a liberal workplace where socks / bare feet are acceptable. In all my two years, this has been my best purchase yet. No more sore feet and I'm also more active being able to comfortably shift my weight around to different stances not possible on a flat floor. Highly recommended.
