Yunko 8 Mini Bows Silicone Mould Fondant Sugar Bow Craft Molds DIY Cake Decorating

Good mold, easy to use! Very small but detailed

The bows in this mold are very tiny, the largest bow is small-medium sized. They are great for using on cakes, especially on figures or small decorations. They could also be used on petite fours, cookies, cake pops, ect. I had to make a Barney birthday cake with little presents & I wanted the bows on the presents to be a little more detailed than the ones I usually see so I found this mold & it was the perfect size for what I needed. I used the top right bow out of the mold for my little fondant presents. This mold was very easy to use, I simply pressed the fondant/gum paste into the mold & it popped right out in perfect shape. I'm very happy with my purchase & I can't wait to use the other bows! To give you an idea of the bow size, the presents I made were about an inch wide on top of a 6" round cake.

I ordered this with the idea of using it with polymer clay instead of fondant and when I first took it out and looked at it I wasn't sure the silicone was firm enough to really get good detail, as most of the silicone molds I have for polymer clay are somewhat stiffer than this. So far though I find it works great!! I have only used it with sculpey premo which is a bit softer than sculpey III or fimo, though I think it'd still work fine with firmer clay.The biggest bow in the center is about an inch long and half an inch tall, the smallest bow is probably around 1/4 inch long. Overall it was a good buy and would be great for its intended use as well.

The mold was a bit smaller than I expected, but that's on me for not checking the product size first. It's very pliable so the melted chocolate I used worked well. However, as an amateur, I didn't know that I had to use powered sugar in the mold first before using fondant with it, otherwise it will stick and the bow won't come out. The biggest bow is almost 2 inches long. Overall, not what I was expecting, but works just as well.
