Can these be used to anchor antenna radials underground level?

These are heavy duty and 6 inches long. But they do not have any rubber coating on them so not sure if they would work with your antenna radials. They may cause some interference.

What is the recommended spacing when using 5oz fabric?

Good question. I used this to overlay the mulch that goes around the perimeter of my house. I placed the spikes about 2 feet apart...well, the wind had other ideas and uprooted the fabric. I will place them closer and cover with rock.

Are the safe to use in a garden. Meaning will they breakdown and contaminate the soild with dangerious metals?

Yes they are safe.....even after a year I just pulled one up and there is no rust whatsoever and its the same color as when I installed it. Hope this helps!
