On the fence about this one
I have planted AeroGarden herbs and tomatoes before, so I’m not new to this process. Growing plants in AeroGardens really is as easy as fill with water, add nutrients, pop in the pods and wait. Because my home water is softened, I use distilled water. I am, however, using a new, non-AeroGarden branded garden, so this could be a contributor to my current difficulty with these pods. I planted two of the three pods from the package, as I added two red cherry tomatoes on the other side of the garden about five days later. This is a 12-pod unit, but I wanted to allow sufficient space for plant growth. I set up my garden per instructions and added the specified amount of liquid food (included in the package). The seeds germinated within the expected time and appeared to be growing well. I carefully cut off the smaller seedlings in each pod as instructed to leave just one healthy plant in each. The remaining seedlings appeared to be growing well, but inexplicably, both plants started to gradually drop leaves over the last week or so and now look like they are going to die. Yesterday I tried a rinse and complete refill of the garden unit, but so far I’m not seeing any signs of improvement. The red cherry tomatoes planted several days later appear to be growing well after culling the smallest seedlings, and although smaller, look to be starting flower buds already, so I’m wondering if the yellow tomato seeds were contaminated by some sort of bacterium or blight, or if this strain is somehow more delicate than the red variety. The first two pictures show the yellow tomato plants, and the last photo shows the larger of the red ones. The garden was brand new, so I didn’t think it necessary to sterilize it before planting. Hopefully the rinse snd refill of the garden will save the yellow tomato plants and keep the red ones growing well. I am not faulting either AeroGarden or the seller here because of the added variable of an unbranded garden model. That said, especially for your first time growing tomatoes, the red mini cherry tomatoes might be a better choice than this yellow variety.

Good product. Not good for shorter Aerogardens
The product grows well. One thing to note is that the tomatoes are too tall for Aerogarden 3. I had hoped that I could fit this in the Aerogarden 3 by using only one of the three pod spaces. The height is so tall that I had to trim the top to keep it from growing into the light source.

Sometimes you get a full bounty.
Sometimes you get a full bounty, sometimes you get duds. Use distilled water and follow instructions for nutrition and light. Your rate of good growth and quality tomatoes is totally dependent on those 2 things. In the end, I have 6 beautiful fruitful plants.

Good, but I got one tomato plant and one bell pepper plant, not two tomatoes as advertised. Also you dont get 6 pods - just two.
As the name says "6-pod", I expected to get 6 pods... but it came with two. Re-reading the description I see that it only says you get 2 pre-seeded golden harvest cherry tomato pods. (The label "6-pod" probably refers to a six-pod machine? Not that that should matter though because it does say "Suitable for all AeroGardens") Not sure, but I was really disappointed to find out that I wasn't getting 6 like I thought I was. Also, the description does definitely say "2 pre-seeded golden harvest cherry tomato pod" but it came with one cherry tomato and one bell pepper. I thought that was too funny because I actually wanted pepper and tomato but was unable to find those two in a set so I settled by just ordering tomato. While some people might have been disappointed with getting the wrong plant, it actually worked out for me. They've been in the AeroGarden for about a week now and they have both started to grow. The product is good, a little overpriced in my opinion for just 2 pods, but I guess I should have paid closer attention. My only issue with this listing is the description/listing title.

Not as described
I purchased this kit with the understanding that I would receive 2 seed pods and 4 covers. I ended up with 6 seed pods and 0 covers. I decided to keep them anyway, but it seems from reviews that this listing has some consistency issues!Edit: my tomatoes are pretty unhappy in the Aerogarden. Although I have lots of little green tomatoes starting, they're growing extensive ugly stem roots all over the first two inches or so of the plant, even beyond the main stem. I'm going to go crazy and try planting them in actual dirt instead.
