Review: Not only the best camera guide I've ever read, possible the best product guide I've ever read. - I don't actually enjoy writing reviews, which is why, out of the all-too-many items I buy on desertcart, I only come back to provide reviews when something is really bad, or really good. In the case of David Busch's D7200 book, it's the latter. Not only is this the best camera guide I have ever owned (and I started taking pictures in 1965), it is quite possibly one of the best product guide books I have ever owned. Logically arranged, clearly written, with just enough repetition (and no more) to keep you from flipping back and forth, this is a book I will be coming back to multiple times as I learn more about my D7200. One of my favorite features, beyond the simple clarity of his explanations of the many settings, is Busch's providing of recommendations for those settings, along with succinct rationales for his suggestions and advice on alternate choices. I also appreciate the careful editing: over the course of about 500 pages, I think I noted maybe 3 typos. Total. And if that doesn't impress you, you've never written an essay. ;-) Review: All you need to know about the D7200 - This is not my first book by David Busch, and as usual he comes through with explanations, and great photos that are easy on the eyes, and mind. Also gives advice on what settings he uses and why. A complete book for anyone who owns a D7200; no matter what your skill level is. A heavy book with over 500 pages, and it holds your interest. Excellent, A 5* rating in anybody's "book" ! I highly recommend this book, and any others by David Busch, a talented and easy to read author.

I would have loved a looser bind that I could lay open on ...
Very complete and informative. My only criticism would be the binding format. The book is heavy and hard to lay flat. I would have loved a looser bind that I could lay open on a table but I suppose that would have increased the cost substantially.

Sure Beats The Manual!
The book was very informative and well laid-out. I've had my camera for a couple of years now and sometimes I forget all of the cool stuff it can do! This book is a great refresher for someone like me, who has had their camera for a while, as well as for the new owner who is scratching their head after perusing the manual. I love having it i Kindle form also as I can use it in the field, if I need. I also like the fact that he explains "why" each setting is what it is, and his personal preferences, and why! Well worth the money!!

If you have a D7200 you need this book
If you have a D7200, you need this book. Like all of the authorโs camera manuals, a zillion features are explained clearly.

The best book I could have purchased, prior to buying the Nikon D7200. Saved me MONEY!!!!!!!
I found this book to be the best purchase ever!!!! I determined what camera I was going to purchase first, then bought the book. I am a beginner when it comes to photography. I purchased a SLR digital camera several years ago and hated it. The quality of the pictures were terrible even using the automatic settings. I am hosting a German exchange student and decided I needed a new camera. I received the book and read most of the book and played very close attention to the section on recommended accessories that should be considered for purchase. The most important section to me was on lenses. I was able to determine the best starting lens for me was the AF-S DX ZOOM-NIKKOR F/3.5-5.6 G VR II. The book save me a lot of frustration, disappointment, and money by helping me make my decision on a lens before buying the camera. I was able to find a camera package that included this lens on Amazon from Cameta Camera. The book is easy to read and understand for a beginner like me. I have also purchased the following books; David Busch's Compact Field Guide for the Nikon D7200 and David Busch's Mastering Digital SLR Photography, Fourth Edition.

A good comprehensive book
It's a well written and comprehensive book but way too much generic padding for my liking. It may well appeal to others. It's not in any way a bad book but, for me, comparing any functional D7200 areas in this book to similar in "Nikon D7200 Experience" sees the latter coming out on top.

Really get to know and use your camera
This is the second book I purchased by David Busch, the other being the d90. So impressed with the first book I actually bought this one before I purchased the camera! I was confident it would feed me all I needed to know in an unbiased way. The size of the book is comfortable so illustrations are not crammed so not necessarily for your camera bag but I carry mine in the car. I think he has a camera bag version. Pages are good, thick, wording good size and the illustrations are colour and shown as on your camera model. Every thing about the layout of your camera is in detail but easily understood. The functioning of your camera is again very easily understood. For the menus he goes over each one explaining it and telling you his preference and why but leaving it up to you. I found this useful when getting to know the camera then experimenting later. The book will be used for a long time as I experiment with the camera. It will teach at the rate you wish to learn with great results. I was having an issue with auto focus and a few reads here and there in the book solved the problem. My father in law (now 79)who is a lifelong professional photographer and studies digital cameras inside out as they are released, picked up the book in my house and said he didn't know such a book existed and would have to get one for his make of camera. That confirmed my good choice.
