I bought these for my big bird. They easy to clean and very well built. It's the right size for what I needed. Easy to install.

Good construction. Bought this for my sun conure (medium) for shower perching but it's a bit too big for her to perch comfortably. If you have a medium sized bird such as a conure, I'd probably recommend the small and if you have a budgie sized bird, this product probably isn't for your bird.

SEE THE UPDATED REVIEW BELOW… I have a young blue-eyed Triton Cockatoo with very sharp talons so this perch idea was attractive to me. My bird freaks out when I try to clip her nails and even the electric grinder frightens her. So adding a perch that is rough enough to round off her nails painlessly for her and me is a great idea. However, I am not sure the cross-hatching grooves are going to be rough enough to do the job. I was expecting something more like a round file texture but this is more like fish scales with just grooves rather than a more aggressive texture. Perhaps in time, it will actually work. We wouldn't want to take too much nail away and have bleeding nails. So I give the perch a 4-star review that would be a 5-star review if it was rougher. UPDATED REVIEW The new perches are significantly improved with deeper engraving. In the picture with two perches side by side the deeper grooving on the right will do a better job of automatically rounding the points off… I upgraded the new perches with five stars… 2/18/23 My cockatoo sleeps on it every night, I now think this is a great product. Zelda agrees!

This perch is much lighter than one of those concrete perches of the same length that are also used to help birds file their own beak. My parrot absolutely loves this and because its made of stainless steel cleaning will be easy and I won't have to worry about an allergic reaction. Will probably buy a second one.
