Worth Every Penny!
Edit: 08/2025. Still happy. Still going strong. Figured I'd update again after seeing this review today. Edit: 12/2024. This vise is still going strong after all this time. Still doing random handy man stuff with it. Still happy with my purchase. Original review is below: I was looking for a made in the USA high quality bench vise. A vise reminiscent of the one my father used 30 years ago. Like many of you, I discovered the price tag attached to a high quality American made bench vise dashed my hopes of obtaining one. This was going to be my first vise and i wanted one to last. During my research I found that Wilton maintained some exacting standards to their "Foreign Made" bench vises. So matching my needs to a vise, I decided on this Wilton WS6. First off, this thing is HEAVY. The FedEx driver did not carry it the last 6 ft to the front door and dropped it off halfway. Shipping weight with outer box was 49 lbs. Box says Manufactured in China to Wilton Specifications. On amazon, description says 25,000 casting, but on the Wilton website the WS6 is Listed at 30,000 PSI cast iron. The box and paperwork for the WS6 say it has a "lifetime" warranty", but i do not see myself needing it anytime soon. PROS: Heavy Duty, All the parts seem to fit together well, Very smooth when operating, Rigid with very little slop, Once locked downed It did not move while beating on it, Jaws line up perfectly, Holds well, Swivels well, 4 Mounting Holes vs 3, 2 Swivel Locks, Perfect for my needs. (General Purpose, Handyman) CONS: This thing was dirty, grease seemed to have been used to coat every surface. (to prevent rust maybe??) There were metal shavings and paint chips stuck to the grease. A couple spots on the machined edge of the u-channel screw cover were sharp, cut you like a knife sharp, it was not de-burred very well. I had to file those edges down. So be careful where you put your hand before you inspect the screw cover. OVERALL: Great value for the money. 5 stars. I would totally recommend this vise for those of you out there wanting quality, but sadly not able to afford an American made bench vise. After wiping it down, cleaning it up and applying some protective silicone grease, I stood back and admired this piece of equipment I purchased. The WS6 is definitely worth the money spent. I have only used it a couple times, and will update my review if anything changes. Now, only time will tell if it will last.

Excellent vice, takes the daily abuse like a champ.
I have used this vise for 4 years. I originally ordered it to install on the rear of my service truck. When it arrived, it had one of the mounting tabs broken off from a drop during shipping. The vise is not light. I didn’t fuss about it at all. There are 3 holes left and that one missing tab is not going to make a difference. The truck spent the majority of the time out in the elements from the extreme heat to the negative temperatures in the winter half of the year here. Fertilizer equipment was what I worked on. This vise held up to the daily abuse I put it through. Granted I tried to pack the grease around the spindle area often. Painted a few times to minimize effects of rusting. This is a great vise that I definitely don’t regret purchasing. As far as the swivel goes, I didn’t experience any major issues or concerns with it. Abusing the swivel pins to tighten a little extra tight to prevent it from loosening up from road vibration and separating on the road is a necessary evil when a trip to a customer could easily entail a five or six hour road trip one way. Side note —A previous vise I purchased actually did vibrate loose at the swivel point and disappeared along the road between the shop and the customer. So, lesson learned from that embarrassing experience.

A beast of a vise
What a nice finished vise. The 8” is a beast. The only issue is the swivel base is not smooth but is clunky. But I will lube the hell out of it to see if that works

don't buy cheap
Vice broke, hubby didn't want to spend the money. I put my foot down, he could buy another inexpensive, mid line vice again IF he promised he would never use a cheater pipe, it would never hold a drive shaft and he would never use it to heat and beat with a torch and hammer. When the old antique broke, we've done nothing but buy a new vice every 2 yrs. I was tired of spending the money. For a few dollars more, my son can inherit this one. I use the vice myself, I hated our affordable replacements. Love the vice and it was worth the wait time.

... delivery timeframe promised by Amazon of course and I love this Wilton vise for most home use and light ...
Received my Wilton Model WS4 in the delivery timeframe promised by Amazon of course and I love this Wilton vise for most home use and light commercial use too. Very solid and heavy vise with a smooth handle operation and does exactly what I expected of it and more. The only negative comment was the actual condition the vise was in upon the (no signature) delivery left by my front door. The outer and inner shipping cartons were ripped through with a huge hole in both boxes. Of course with my luck the handle was bent on the vise, exactly on the same side where the box was damaged. About a 10 degree bend which is frustrating to have to look at every time I use the vise. Of course it works, but I should have sent it right back to Amazon, but because it was left at my door, I didn't want to bother with all the return shipping labels, UPS, pick up etc, reboxing and taping, blah, blah. Hey it works and it's a work vise right. Too bad I have OCD and have to live with the thing.

Great solid vise.
Perfect for work table mount. Jaws are starting to rust some but what vise hasn't. This thing was built for WORK and it is great for all kinds of materials. I've used it for plate...pipes....wood pieces, even holding plastic stuff ( just be smart here)..even used it to straighten stuff. So glad I replaced my old renkie dink vise with this. YOU will not be disappointed. Recommend.

Very solid homeowner grade vise.
This vise is a good deal for this price point. Holds tight and doesn’t have slop/wiggle. I was pleasantly surprised because this vise is made in China. I replaced a china special vise that basically blew apart after applying a moderate about of pressure to it. This Wilton is better made and even though I have not put a significant amount of pressure on it yet, it is better made than the others I have seen in this price point. Should be great for repair and metal work on on the ranch. I would upgrade if I were a pro shop doing serious metal work- but that would be a huge price jump. Also I heard that the “lifetime warranty” is really only 10yrs- which is considered the lifetime of the vise. My piece of crud last vice lasted 8 yrs mounted in the elements- it was not a Wilton.

Good quality
I bought this for my garage shop for little repairs and projects. I’m a retired farmer and had expensive Jet grinders and vices. I don’t need that now nor do I have room for them. This came up on Amazon at a good sale price. I’m impressed with the quality. It does everything I need to do. Recommend

A Real High Quality Product
This is a high quality vise built for many years of service. My shop has gone through too many vises from other companies that once manufactured quality products. Our primary use for this tool is for crushing and cleaning objects before sending to a refinery for precious metal recovery. It is a dirty process and often results in the jaws having uneven or uncentred tension placed on them. In the months we have been using this vise, it has demonstrated it's resilience and durability. Buy with confidence.

Solido
