U9 ViewHD 4K 30Hz HDMI v1.4 1x2 Splitter | Model U9-Pluto

I had an issue with my ROKU which I used to feed a home theater projector. I needed to strip audio from the HDMI to send it to my sound system so I obtained an audio extractor. This worked fine but every few minutes, the video would loose lock and completely break up for about 5 seconds (an HDMI issue I'm sure). I isolated it to the extractor but rather than replace the extractor, I purchased the U9 splitter. Now I have video going through the splitter to my projector and the splitter copies and reports the EDID from my projector to the ROKU which makes it work flawlessly (the U9 allows one to select which input source EDID is copied and relayed to the source device). The other U9 output goes to the audio extractor which also works without issues. An added plus is that when receiving Pandora, I can turn my projector off and HDMI is maintained so I can continue to extract music audio for Pandora. I plan to get another for a separate system which feeds a 3D display along with a non-3D display. It has the issue that I have to disconnect the non-3 display to use the 3D display because of EDID issues.. With this splitter copying and producing a selected EDID, I should be able to leave both connected and use the 3D display.To conclude, this splitter is packaged nicely, appears to have advanced operational features not found in other HDMI splitters, and comes well packaged with a power cable (though lacking a power supply).

Works and has option DIP switches to force 4k30 or 1080p EDID which was needed in my case. Don't forget to buy a micro USB power supply ! The product is in a metal case and well constructed.

i bought this to remove the DHCP so i could watch netflix and other programs in my 2014 town and country.this box when i first hooked it up including hdmi and power did nothing different.but on accident i found that if you dont plug in the power it works for certain applications.it does work on Netflix and YouTube as well as disney + and prime videoit did not work on apple movies/tv shows. movies anywhere or paramount+it still showed dhcp errors with these programs.so it will work, with the ones that worked the picture and sound was clear..hope this helps others as i did over 10 hours of research trying to get something that would work

I have a 2010's VCR that happens to play VHS over HDMI. It can even play vintage gaming consoles over HDMI using the A/V inputs. Hands off, it's mine! However, when I tried to record with my capture card, I got the resolution (480p), but just a black screen. I happened upon this being a security measure called HDCP. Luckily, it's cheap and easy to remove it, and I don't even have an ideal setup. I used this adapter without the external USB power, and it worked with a 33ft HDMI attached via a coupler to a 6ft. How it did this without power, I'll never know! (probably because it's a 480p signal, lol). Since it removed the HDCP just using INPUT 1, I have nothing else to say. I didn't even have to connect the second output.

This SPLITTER WORKS GREAT to feed both a 1080p monitor and a 1080p HDMI to USB adapter to a laptop running OBS Studio. On occasion I had to plug in and power up the splitter with only the monitor connected (on output port #1), and shortly afterwards plug in the cable running to the laptop (on output port #2). There are a couple of physical switches to deal with under some EDID conditions, but the splitter worked for me without messing with them.By the way, I RECOMMEND THIS "U9-PLUTO" SPLITTER over the " VHD-1X2MN3D model", also by the same vendor, as this latter model did not feed a full 1080p signal successfully to the monitor or adapter. Fortunately for me, the AFTER-SALE TECH SUPPORT WAS IMMEDIATE AND ACCURATE -- THANK YOU!! -- in gauging the issue and the solution, with the solution being the U9-PLUTO model.

Have yet to be able to get this splitter to work. After rereading instructions and searching for tips to enable my setup, I’m going to try to return it. I am a technically savvy person and can typically “get things to work.”

Confirmed the U9 Pluto does not allow HDCP pass through. Perfect for my needs. Great little device!

It did seem to “strip” HDCP occasionally. Unit quit working all together after a month. But it was super cheap, so again, you get what you pay for.

I had got this item for the seller to use to bypass my HDCP and it worked for my PS3. Hopefully this helps buyers and the seller. Thank you very much for selling me a product that does what it decribes.
