Awesome purchase, works great and is VERY convenient. A little pricey for a hose but it is very nice quality and looks great on the wall behind a bush.

I was dubious that Giraffe Tools AW40 Retractable Hose Reel would be very sturdy. Boy, was I wrong. Mounting the unit was fairly simple, but, depending on where you are mounting it, there may be challenges. Trying to find a stud from the outside of the house can be difficult, if not impossible. I was hoping to find a stud for at least one set of bolts, but that was not to be. I used the wall anchors provided with the unit and they are working just fine. The quality of the supplied hose is excellent. Same with the provided spray nozzle. But I am most impressed with the retraction mechanism. The rewind is very strong (hold on to the hose when retracting!) and seems very durable. I have used this daily for over a month and all functions work well. I highly recommend this unit.

I love the idea of a self-retractable hose reel. It is extremely easy to install with four bolts directly into the wall. I wish I would have known that the Tapcon screws were not included. Instead there are lag bolts that they give you with hollow wall anchors. Doesn’t exactly do me any good. I’m sure this was in the description somewhere but I just didn’t see it. The value for the money is marginal but in line with other units in this arena. It is light weight for ease of install.There is no lock on the unit with is a shame. And it looks good. However I would say that because the housing is completely plastic, it probably will fade with time. I guess that’s why they sell an optional reel cover for their unit. I am also probably going to buy a 90 degree fitting for the entry hose of the unit so that my hose isn’t jutting out of the reel. It’s kind of an eyesore. Also… because if the plastic mount… I do worry about UV degradation over time affecting it and making it brittle. Hopefully this lasts five years. Ten would be better.

Awesome product, easy to install and use. I bought 2! I did have an issue with one of the nozzles. Their support team was fantastic to work with and resolved my situation very quickly and fairly. Shoutout to Zoey!

I hope this plastic monster will last. Seems solid in build, which is why I gave a 3 star rating. This could have easily been rated at 2 stars, here's why.1. if you really need a 5/8 hose, this isn't it. Technically, it may have an OD of 5/8" but a 5/8" hose should represent the diameter of the inside not the outside.2. hose seems very cheaply made. Its super flexible and kinks very easy. That's a pet peeve of mine. I do not like hoses that kink if the wind blows. Part of the black outer coating is already coming off of the hose. I don't think this will affect the performance though.3. the mounting hardware. If you do not want to go to home depot or lowes to purchase the proper mounting sleeves, don't buy this one. But if you don't mind a trip to the store to get the proper mounting sleeves then you're OK. The online instructions say to use a 1/2" masonry bit when mount to brick. The included plastic sleeves will pull out of the wall within the first couple of uses. You will need to get the 1/4 lead sleeves if you use a 1/2 bit. But, you can use the included lag bolts. Just make sure to an impact drill or they will never go in without a ton of work.The good is that the hose seems to retract properly. The very flexible hose may be necessary for this to work properly so I won't hold that against it.I probably would have bought a Hoselink product if they were sold by Amazon. I just didn't trust the hoselink website for the purchase. Wishing you all the best.

I finally went for it and ordered one. I know Giraffe brand is a little more then others, but the quality is so much better. Everything about it is better. The looks, it locks perfect every time, the retracting is smooth and always goes up to the nozzle. Very well built. So much so I ordered a second one for the front yard too. I did get the bigger diameter hose one for the front. Because the first one I bought came with a smaller hose but the length was longer but it didn't have enough to power my pressure washer. The bigger diameter hose isn't as long but is still pretty long, and it provides a better amount of water. Love these guys products.

Had a small problem with leaking. Contacted customer service and they immediately responded and sent a new hose reel. The ease of using this product is so much better than having to drag a hose around and the length is just what I needed.
