Dakine Surf Trucker Hat

Have bodyboarded with this for over a month to include yellow flag beach days. The clasp feel secure, and the hat doesn't choke, even when I'm in the wash. It withstands duck dives well too, and actually keeps the waves from slapping my face at times. On easy days, I can go without my contacts and use Croakies to secure my prescription sunglasses to the hat. The mesh near the ears prevents water from splashing in. Love this hat!

If you surf you need to protect your eyes and scalp from the sun. These help a LOT and I wish I'd bought them decades ago. Not only do they protect from sun but they keep a bit of the spray out of my eyes while tube riding or paddling into a wave with strong offshore winds, as was the case in Waikiki this month.I also wear my hat under my hooded wetsuit here in cold California. My only complaint is that they are a little dorky looking, with the flat brim, and I feel this hat would look cooler with a more rounded one.

This is the best surfing product I've ever bought. It manages to protect your face (and ears!) from the sun without looking derpy af. Saves your eyes from glare. Doesn't come off if you wipe out. On the way to the surf, you can tuck the strap/buckle into the hat itself and wear it like a normal trucker hat. I have no idea why more companies don't make these - I hardly ever go surfing in the summer without this now. 10/10 recommend.

The overall structure of the hat seems decent. The part that's week is the flimsy thin clip they used. What a shame that they decided to cut corners on the clip. I wore the hat maybe three times and the clip snapped while I was out in the water. Luckily, I recovered the hat, but now it's not usable since the clip snapped. See images.In the past I purchased a different hat from Billabong with a much more solid clip. I might go that route now.Tried to get things resolved through Dakine but never heard back from them. Left messages, emailed and more. Zero customer service. I will not be purchasing anything from Dakine in the future. I definitely do not recommend purchasing this cap. More than likely, you'll wear it a few times and have the clip break and lose the cap.

Stayed on my head through hours of surfing and duck diving. Kept my head and ears from getting sun burnt. Looks good too. I originally bought this hat to help secure sunglasses on my face while surfing and it worked great at keeping the neck strapped sunglasses from slipping off my head.

My husband loves this- he says it fits well, stays on and is one of the best hats while surfing.

The strap broke off the third time I used it. And I wasn't even surfing. Just went to put it on and adjust the strap and it broke. I gave it 2 stars instead of one because it was actually a great hat the two times I used it.

It works but there are better hats out there in my opinion.
