Great product
Bought to put over my flower beds which get a lot of sun and dry out very easily (plus get loads of weeds)! Love the texture and although it isn't the cheapest option, a bag does go a lot further than I thought it would. Yes to see if it stops the weeds or soil from drying too much, but love how it looks in the garden.

Large pieces of bark, give good finish to planting area.
Easy to handle size of bag. Good coverage as the bark is a decent size. No rubbish mixed in with it. Good value pack.

Big bag covers a big area
Great for paths and weed suppression. Heavy to manipulate a full bag and best used in one go as stays very wet in the bag.

Smells awful-AVOID!
The bags arrived open, the seller says it’s an Amazon problem cause they delivered it and Amazon are just trying to pass the buck.I got 2 bags and they sat in my porch for a couple of days, it’s been over a week and I can still smell the hydrocarbon smell of the quite poor quality bark when entering my house.I’ve put the bags in the garden, but am wondering if it’ll damage my garden and harm my cat if I put it out in my flower beds and pots.Amazon take the mickey expecting you to sort out return delivery for such a large and heavy item.Would give it zero stars!What a total waste of money!

Ideal for borders
I purchased 2 bags of the bark and it filled 1.5m x 1.5m perfectly. It did smell but maybe that’s because it’s compressed. This was a grassed area that I dug up 2 inches deep. I placed a protective sheet on top of the soil and then placed the 2 bags on top to prevent grass regrowth. It did what the product was for.

The bark pieces were quite large
Some of the bark seemed to have just been peeled straight off the tree as it was in very large strips. This decorative bark also contained quite a few larger pieces of wood which appeared to come from fence posts or other sawn timber as they had right-angled edges. I had to remove those before spreading it on the flower beds but in general it is a fairly good product and I will buy it again.
