Excellent strength tool!
As advertised. Best part is that it is hard to find similar in terms of quality and difficulty level. Other similar items are lesser quality and lower difficulty. Professional quality.

Smashing!
I have been doing forearm exercises with my dominant hand since I was 12. During my 20s, my grip started to weaken, but since I have been married my dominant hand is once again at full strength...or so I thought. I bought three of these grippers to try the different strengths and because my left hand is significantly weaker than my right - Guide, Trainer, and No 2. I was surprised that I couldn't even close the No 2 with my right hand one single time. I could come pretty close, but not get the tips to touch. I let a couple of other pretty big guys try it at work and no one was able to close the No 2 completely. I can close the Trainer with my right hand about five reps no problem. I can't close the Trainer with my left hand. The Guide will be good for me to build up strength in my left hand. I've attached images of each of these grippers so you can see the size of my hand and maybe help you decide which strength to get. These things are super sturdy. A couple of them squeaked slightly, but a little WD40 took care of that problem. The feel of it is similar to a weight bar at the gym, maybe not even that rough. I've read several reviews about people saying that these shredded their hands. I don't see how this is possible because my hands aren't really calloused, and I've been using them for a few days no problem. You would have to have some seriously creamy lotioney hands for this to shred your skin. If you do have some baby smooth hands and want to keep them that way just wear gloves. That's what people do for the bars at the gym. Overall, this is a great product. I'm looking forward to being able to close the No 2. 6 Month Update: These things have held up very well. I haven't had to reapply any WD40 as they are still quiet from the first application. I use the Trainer and the Guide the most so I can do more reps. However, the No 2 has been the most fun. I keep it on my desk at work so people will pick it up. I love seeing the look on their face when they realize how hard it is. I have gotten to where I can close the No 2 now, but it is tough. I strained my hand one day trying to show off by snapping it shut without warming up. Overall great products. Would buy again if I had to over.

STRONG, RUGGED - and you (if you do it right) will see AMAZING RESULTS.
I purchased the No. 1 earlier (as my first) and only other Hand Gripper to date. The No. 1 I found to be surprisingly tougher than I expected - but with time am able to churn out 20 reps per hand. I decided to skip No. 1.5 and go right to No. 2. If I could do it over, I would have gotten the 1.5. The No. 2 I can close 4-5 times but unlike the 1 where I am getting full closures where the metal touches each and every time - these are much harder to close where the metal makes contact with each other. These are worth getting - you will humble a lot of people if you get any of these 1 and up - when you ask someone to try and they cannot close even once and then with your training you close it several times. You will have those rare few who naturally due to their type of work be able to close these - but typically, the only way you can get good at these is to have them for a while and use while you drive or watch tv. The results will be seen but truly be reasonable in your expectations. From a quality standpoint - these are great. They break in nicely where you don't hear the initial squeak you may first hear ... WD 40 or any other lubricant is a good way to start when you first take these out of the package.

CoC are the best
Top-notch quality grips, though they come with a premium price tag.

* Friendly Advice * Do NOT Start Here (CoC #2) *
Oh MAN, I thought this thing (CoC #2) was defective when I opened it... "It's so hard to close, there MUST be something wrong with it... Maybe it's rusted shut or something... The problem certainly COULDN'T be ME? Could it?" Okay, now I'm certainly not in Linebacker shape any more, but I'm still in decent shape and pretty strong (6'-3" / 255-lbs). My grip has always been relatively good and I've regularly used those cheapo-grips I've had since I was a kid. The ones rated as "Heavy" or "X-Heavy". My last one finally broke a couple weeks ago, so I started looking on Amazon.com for some new ones. Ever since I can remember I've been able to squeeze out 3-sets of 50-reps on these things easy, so... ENTER: Captains of Crunch #2. The Brand that's highly touted and repeatedly reviewed as "The Best" along with a few complainers crying about how "Hard" they are. Yeah, whatever Princess... I read the exact same complaints about the ones I was using. Bring it on... Ummm, ooops... okay, I admit it, I had no idea what I was "bringing on". The pinkies on both my hands are still tingling all the way down to my wrists as I write this review. And they're NOT tingling in that, "Oh that was a good burn" sort of a way. More like the scary, "Uh-oh, I think something's really wrong" sort of a way. Oh man, this thing is a BEAST! I'm writing this and then immediately ordering a CoC#1.5 so I can actually warm-up a little before hitting this monster. Just a friendly heads-up. Cheers.

About 90% of the normal population cannot close the 1.5's (according to my estimate)
I am a college student who had decided to work out and get big about a year ago. Chin ups were always my favorite exercise, and after many workouts, I have achieved the ability to do a chin up while wearing 100 lbs on a dip belt. I finally had to buck up and go to the gym because my home workouts were bordering on the dangerous level with the amount of weight that I had to be using. I came to realize that my body is able to do many different types of exercises that surpass my grip strength, and that's where these babies came in. About 4-5 weeks ago, I had decided to bite the bullet and get the 1.5's. I figured that 1's might be too easy, and I almost got the 2's because I had such a large ego. For someone that does chin ups with a grand total weight of ~280 lbs, I could definitely tell you that 1.5's were tough. I could not close them for 2-3 weeks, and that was with persistent training. I took these suckers to school and I gave everybody the 1.5's to try out -men, women, and gym buffs. Of the many people I gave these things to, the two people that managed to close it were about 50 lbs heavier than I am (180). A few notes for you: The grips are rough. If you do not have rough hands, these will hurt. Just quit being a baby and grow some calluses. The grips can squeak. This says nothing about the quality of the product. Get some WD40 on the spring, and grip. The grips are HARD. If you think you have a monster grip, by all means, get the 1.5 first. If you're simply "advanced", get the 1's. These things are heavy duty. Throw them down a cliff, run them over with your car, shout hurtful phrases at it. They'll manage. It does not seem like it, but these will WORK your forearms if you put the effort in. I've noticed increased size and vascularity within a few weeks of use. These WILL affect your performance at the gym. I'm able to do lat pull downs and lateral rows more comfortably with larger weights (250+ lbs). I'm able to do dumbbell flyes longer without tiring at heavier weights (40+ lbs). If you can conquer 1.5's, people will call you a freak (in a good way). I literally got my CoC #2's a few minutes ago. I could close the 1.5's about 5 times on my right hand and 2-3 on my left. If I squeeze my hardest, I could get the handles within 3/4 of an inch of each other on the #2's. Get a beast grip. Get these things.

Do Not Start Here!!
My personal COC grip strength progression has gone as follows. COC Sport, COC Trainer, COC #1, and now, the COC #2. I have a #2.5 on order and I already own a #3 just for grins; keep in mind, the #3 is light years away from the #2. Had I started with the #2 (as was suggested to me by an "expert") not only would I not have been able to close it to begin with, but my grip likely wouldn't have developed nearly as strong as it is today, having followed the proper progression. There are a lot of people who think they should start with the #2. Really, unless you're an absolute freak-of-nature beast- don't. The #2 is the threshold for 'exceptional' hand strength. Once you get here, you can bet the farm that your hand strength is going to be superior to most any random person off the street. After conquering the #2, you can decide if you want to continue on the journey and shoot for "world class" hand strength via the #3. As others have said, the COC #2 is just like all the other COC grippers. Top quality, super durable and high performance.

Yep. These are definately Captain Crush
Well, if you are not sure what Number grip to choose, let me try to help. If you are use the black plastic grippers that everyone owns and probably can do quite a few reps on them, (I can do 50 in one sitting) The No.2 grips are NOT what you would want to start with. I couldn't even close the grips the first try. You may want to start with the No.1 or trainer first. trust me. If you try to Jump ahead you will disappoint yourself. Start of easy and work your way up! Learn from my mistake!!! after a few months, I can finally close the No2. I actually hurt my hand (pulled something I think) trying to close this thing within the first month. had to put it way until my hand felt better. Then I wised up, and stopped trying to close it. I just started doing half closures and building my hand strength. Now, I can close it once, but then my hand is done. The other thing is the actual metal grip. definitely not for the keyboard hands. If you don't have any callouses, you will. So, in review - listen to the reviewers - start off light - work your way up so you don't hurt yourself. - Kinda sucks to have to pay $20+ bucks for each grip, but if you want to do it right, start off light.

Best Grippers, Period.
Best grippers on the market. The captains of crush are the quintessential grip training tool for anyone that is serious about improving grip/hand/forearm strength. Forget about the plastic spring one from your local department store, this is the real deal. The #2 is not a beginner gripper and is challenging to close. If you are starting consider a trainer from captains of crush or a half size like a 0.5. These grippers get better with time and will last forever, very sturdy build and can take anything you can throw at it. Pricey but worth every penny

Excelente.
