WORKS REALLY GOOD
works really good. My battery's stays charged and have had no problems with prolonged use even in subzero weather. My tractor started right up and was not overcharged. I have bought two and use them on diesel operated vehicles, charged both batteries and maintained them no problem at all.

Works well
Does exactly what description indicates... good value choice. Right now I use one unit to keep multiple batteries charged. Might buy another of the same unit to reduce cable switching.

Definitions for the Exciter 5 Stages of Charging
Exciter advertises 5 stage charging.I was looking for a unit the claims to a desulfation stage. Every competitor is up front in touting their charging stages. Typically models with desulfation are 5 stage units.Exciter is conspicuous in the fact that they do not define the stages online.I spent hours searching the net looking for the stage definitions and or the manufacturer’s website. I found NOTHING. What I did find over and over was what appeared to be regurgitations of one or two press releases. It was the same non-info time and time again.I started writing those websites that offered the Exciter for sale.I finally received an expansive email from a nice gentleman from one of those sites. In that email he defined all 5 stages. He defined stage 5 as DESULFATION.In order to find the correct definitions YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE THE PRODUCT!Those stages are:Stage 1: Pre-Qualification TestStage 2: Bulk Charge ChargingStage 3: Equalization-Charge ChargingStage 4: Float / MaintenanceStage 5: Recycled ChargeI do not understand why the functions in stage 5 need to be defined in a stage other than to create something out of nothing.I believe that the non-discloser of the stage definitions was DELIBERATE so to be able dupe customers that they offer the same functionality the as their 5 Stage competitors. The documentation also contains, Distributed by ACCUSENSE Charger, Piney Flats, Tn and provides the website accusensecharge.com.Of course the website DOES NOT EXIST.

Worth every penny!!!
Works great for motorcycles. It comes with a tender pigtail (google it if you don't know what that is), so all you have to do is plug in. Really helps if your battery is hard to access. Just attach the pigtail to the terminals and you can easily charge anytime. My battery charged completely from being dead in about 12 hours (but this will depend on what type of battery and the condition of the cell). For cars, use setting 1, motorcycles are setting 2.

No more dead battery.
My Ford F150 was only a couple of months old when I had to replace my battery because I forgot to pull the plug on the dash camera from the cigarette lighter plug (non switched), my bad. After installing a new battery, I decided a float charger was in order and bought this one. It was delivered in good time. The Xciter 5-Stage 900mA Charger/Maintainer is plugged into the wall of my garage and the cigarette lighter adapter (sold at extra cost) into the lighter plug inside the truck. Obviously that won't work for switched plugs. The chargers wire from the wall plug, in front of the truck, to inside the truck is not hurt when I close the door on it (also bought the 12 foot wire extension but didn't need it). I don't use the vehicle but every few days and haven't had any problems since using the charger. These newer computer equipped vehicles will run down the batteries if you don't use them on a regular basis. The summer heat of the desert where I live is a battery killer. This charger is great, it has three lights to indicate if it is off, charging, or float charging. One potential caution: If you are using a ground trip wall plug be sure to check it if you have a power failure, it may be tripped.

Versitile
This trickle unit adjusts to 12V large battery, 12V small battery and 6 volt systems. Has 3 colored lights, red, green and yellow. Using it for my 6 volt 1948 International KB3. Works great and I can see by the lights what it is doing. If you leave any equipment with a battery idle too long, allowing the amps to go down, it will not last. You need a trickle charge for a battery to last for several years. Minimal KWs, no overheating and minimal fire hazard.
