DYING For More!
I'll say the same about each of the books in this series.....This book was fun, the plot twists were many, the men were hot, and the sex was hotter. That's all you need to know!Seriously, this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I read 1-3 in 3 days. Each one leaves off with an awesome hook! Can't wait for #4 to come out.By this third book, I was wondering how many times Charlie can realistically get caught by a serial killer and live to tell the tale. Come on, why does Charlie always have to go into the field? She doesn't carry a gun, isn't trained in any self defense...she should stay behind the desk. But I love her and Michael so much, and I'm DYING to know more of his past, that I don't care how many times she gets caught.I also CAN NOT WAIT to find out who this mystery man is that appears at the very end and how Michael is going to get back to her. I have some theories, but I'll have to wait until August to see if I'm right.

Love the books, but the series needs a little push
I remember when I received an ARC of The Last Victim through Amazon Vine and had no idea what I was in store for. The reviews were mixed, because of all things, the "hero" in the story appeared to be a serial killer, which grossed people out, but following the genre of paranormal romance and urban fanstasy, I knew there was more to this than meets the eye. For Karen Robards fans, this series is very different than what you're used to and some people love it, while others hate it, but I for one, love the series. One of the biggest differences is the frenetic way the book is written. It's edgy with lots of long, disrupted sentences that give it a crazy, fast paced quality. The first installment is very similar to Darynda Jones's Charlie Davidson series, which is another fantastic urban fantasy/paranormal romance suspense series, but over the last three books, this series has come into it's own and although I love the journey so far, I do think we need a major leap forward to get this series on sturdy ground. If you haven't read this series from the beginning, you could pick it up here, but the dynamics will not be as fulfilling so it's best if you're already on this ride to pick up book 3.Dr. Charlie Stone is an expert psychologist who profiles serial killers. She's determined to find a correlation in their nature or nuture that leads to this behavior. She often helps the FBI in profiling, but since the last novel, where she was almost killed, she's a little slow to join the hunt these days. That, and she's distracted not only by the ghosts she can see and hear, but also by the gorgeous ghost whom she's apparently falling in love with. This go around, we learn alot more about Michael's past as he gets closer and closer to leaving this earthly plane forever. Charlie is desperate to keep him with her, but constantly jeopardizes the situation by running into scrape after scrape which calls for desperate measures from Michael to protect her, thus thrusting him out of the human realm of the living. This viscious cycle is what leaves this a four star instead of a five for me. Charlie is absolutely deranged and can't make up her mind about what she wants and what is good for her. This angst dragged on quite a bit and the push pull of her feelings for Michael get a bit tiring. The ending is definitely a bit of a cliff hanger and I'm curious to see where it brings us, but if we go back to denials or worse yet, the end of Michael, then this series has no place to go. He is the very essence of what makes this series so good.

Love this series
Why did I put off reading this series for years when Karen Robards is one of my favorite automatic reads? It may be partly because as a rule I don't like to read a series (usually too long in between books and I hate cliff hanger endings) or maybe because I couldn't see how a relationship with a ghost would work. Well.....I was wrong in every way. I devoured the first three books in four days. These books have been some of the best reads I've had in awhile. I love all the characters, From Charlie and her "hot" ghost Michael to the secondary characters of "Kaminsky" Lena and "Buzz." These books have everything readers of romantic suspense love: a smart, witty female lead, a totally hot, snarky, hot male love interest - did I say "hot and sexy?" - along with a great story and lots of suspense. Now my only gripe is that I have to wait until August for book number 4. Maybe there is something to be said for waiting to read a series - at least I won't be waiting another year😉

I loved it. Have read the first two Charlie books ...
The first few chapters were really spooky, almost too much so, but then it got into the story and, as always with Karen Robards stories, I loved it. Have read the first two Charlie books with Michael and my only complaint in those was that the sex part dragged on for too many chapters. Not so with this book. It was perfect. Charlie and her ghost make for fun reading, plus the mystery is always there. Her characters are well written, you could run into them anywhere and be friends with them....okay, no so with Michael - let's face it, if we ran into Michael, we'd keep him for ourselves! I don't like reviews that tell you the whole story, needless to say, if you are a Karen Robards fan, you know it will be good, and if you haven't read her books - you don't know what you are missing!

HER LAST WHISPER
What can I say, Ms Robards out did herself in Dr. Charlotte Stone novels..I loved her characters Tony, Buzz, and Lena Throughout the three novels, She Ms Robards depicts them as supporting roles to Dr. Stone. I could also see the book or plot as them the stars in their own novels.I was so upset that Charlotte had to loose Michael. Although I knew it would have to happen.i did was so love the series.I am hoping Ms Richardswill continue writing further series.I have enjoyed everything I have read that she has written. I do believe I have read most of her books.

Would have loved to flesh out some of the Las Vegas interactions ...
This is an interesting story line with interesting characters. I do think that there was far too much time going over the same topics. It took forever to get out of the initial prison drama. Would have loved to flesh out some of the Las Vegas interactions especially with Michael and Tam. So, there were times i wanted to put it down. That said, the ending of course leaves us hanging. Why oh why do we have to wait until August 2015 to wrap this one up. Or will that wrap it up?
