Great comfort and durability.
Update- I wore them out. Replaced the last week of February 2023. The soles are still good and nothing fell apart. They developed a hole at the top about 1" from where the steel tow ends and in the crease of the padded piece above the heel. Kind of a weird spot, but it is what it is. Good, comfortable work boot that i will still use for heavy yard work and home projects. They aren't trash, just retired from daily work boots. Can't post a retirement pic for some reason. I bumped it to 5 stars. They did what i needed them to do, in a comfortable way, and long enough to easily justify the cost. I've had more expensive for far less satisfaction. I highly recommend them if you're in the market.Good experience so far. With any work boot it takes quite awhile for a complete review. Only issue i have had was trying to use a different insole. It made the toe box much to tight. I had bought different work boots from Carhartt last year that i ended up giving to my son because even with the original insoles the toe box was way to tight. With these the toe box is fine with the original insole, but not with an aftermarket insole. The claim of waterproof is true as long as you know what that means. They kept my feet dry when submerged to the top of the boot. Don't expect ANY boot to be waterproof beyond where the tongue becomes separated from the rest of the boot. Once the tongue becomes separated from the shaft of the boot you lose waterproofing at that point. These boots maintained being waterproof up to the first eyelet on the shaft. The support and comfort with the original insole has been good so far. Durability will be discovered as they used and abused over time. My last boots were 8" Carolina's that had one of the heel pieces that wrap around the heel separate after a few months. I used instant Gorilla glue that actually held to this day. I wore those boots out before the glue quit holding the heel together. So far these boots are what I had hoped for. I will update this review to reflect long term durability and comfort as time goes on.

Comfortable From The Start
They're comfortable out of the box. They fit like a glove during their first two days on the job. I'm hoping they're durable too. UPDATE: Shoveled snow from a 14" storm for nearly 8 hours. The bottom 2" were slush. My feet were warm, dry and comfortable the whole time. When I came inside, my socks were barely sweaty. So far, so good! UPDATE: A week of tree work in a steep ravine. Frozen leaves and snow thawing to leaves and mud each day. Brush stubs, rocks, swampy creek bed. It was 11 degrees yesterday. The boots have taken it all. They've kept my feet warm, dry, comfortable. They've helped me navigate the terrain. I'll update again if and when they fail me. February 2 update: These boots just got me through the record cold and snow of January 2019. They were warm at -3 degrees with 2 pairs of wool sox, one thin, the other thick. The longest stretch in that cold was 3 hours. They stayed dry inside all day in snow knee high with deeper drifts. They've also broken in to be as comfortable as bedroom slippers. Nice job, Carhartt. UPDATE: These boots are well into their second winter. I can't say enough good things about them. The uppers are soft and wearing well at the creases. The tread is holding up great. Best of all, they're still warm and waterproof in wet, calf-high snow.

These boots keep walking, walking all over town.
Great boots. ONLY brand I buy. Tried similar brand but they just can't step up to these. Comfortable durable and dressy until I start to wear them out. They last a good long time to be work boots. I don't have anything to complain about with these. These are my 4th or 5th pair in 15 or so years.

Pretty Darn Good
Alright, I’ve been wearing these everyday for 5 months now. For reference I work 60-80hrs a week as a heavy equipment operator for a mining company. I bought these while in the midst of my company building a new processing plant and my Ariat boots just didn’t have enough ankle support and traction for all the climbing I’d been doing. The break-in period with these sucked. Real bad. However, once I got the leather relaxed and fitted to my foot, they were fantastic. They’re very comfortable, have fantastic grip, the composite toe works as expected, and given what they are, are pretty light. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is the waterproofing. They’re more like water resistant. That being said they’ve worn very well thus far, and should that trend continue, I will absolutely buy another pair.

Solid but painful - additional information
I have now worn these boots for eight solid days, eight to ten hours a day. I can tell you three things: FIRST -they are absolutely NOT water proof. I did not walk in water but simply got one wet moving the lawn sprinkler. It soaked my sock immediately. SECOND - do NOT count on any electrical protection. We have had one of the driest seasons on record and yet I got a real jolt when I accidentally brushed against the our electric horse fence. THIRDLY - these boots are perhaps the most uncomfortable pair of work boots I have ever worn. My feet hurt every day. I would return them if I could. Unfortunately, they have now been worn outside and are not resalable. I needed a new pair of tough work boots, so I bought them thinking they would be an upgrade from my old Survivors. These were expensive, so I will wear them. NOT WATER PROOF in the least! NOT THE SLIGHTEST ELECTRICAL PROTECTION. Very UNCOMFORTABLE.First pair of loggers. These seem to be rugged. However, there are metal eyelets right at the bend of the foot when walking. The metal cuts into the ankles. I was hoping that would change the more I wore them, but so far it has not. These were expensive, but probably not worth the cost. Next time I will go with either the Keen or Red Wing.

Good boot
You have to be careful not to lace it too tight or it will put pressure at one of the eyelets around the ankle . They are heavy and hot but I bought them for motorcycle riding to give support and a little extra reach riding an Ultra Limited. I have no regrets.
