Nice Finish, Easy to Apply, What more do you want?
Watco always came through with its Danish Oil years ago, nice to see it still does. Went on easy, easy rub-down, and the result is a nice finish. Used it on maple, result magic. Use this when you want the grain to pop.

The best finish
I used this to put a new finish on a burl walnut sculpture I had done 50 years ago. Removed all the old wax, rubbed down with 4 0000 steel wood and applied. Beautiful surface - better than the original. There is none of the product that remains on the surface if done right, just that which soaks in. Much better than tung oil.

Great finish when the product needs to be food-safe!
I am a pyrography artist. My most frequent pieces are charcuterie/serving boards, so I need a finish that will be durable but food safe. I’ve tried so many including mineral oil and walrus oil or wax and so far, my favorite is this. It’s a little temperamental and not as easy to work with as the others I mentioned, but it gives the richest finish and, in my opinion, the most amount of protection. Definitely follow the instructions and watch a video or two if you’ve never worked with it before.

1st time good experience
After building my workbench I did tons of research on how to finish it to protect the workspace top. I found a lot of people just used wax while others used a different kind of oil. I chose Danish because I not only wanted protection but a nice look and feel after the oil cured. Many users of this oil described how the wood would turn a variation of color depending on the wood species. It also leaves a smoother feeling to the touch. I only did one coating and applied a paste wax after. My workbench is made up of 2x4 common wood, 3/4, 1/4, and 1/2 plywood. I applied Danish to the workbench top (3/4 ply), the top of the drawer (1/4 ply), the 2x4 (leg and frame), and only some of the 1/2 ply as I found this species didn’t absorb as well. The Danish Oil bought out a very nice color for the 3/4 and 1/4 as it darkened the wood in addition to the protection. The 2x4 appearance was that of a satin to semi-gloss look. All wood to the touch is smooth and by applying only one coat and applying paste wax over it, didn’t leave it as an oily surface. I followed the directions and applied in a well ventilated area outside in my driveway. I used a paint brush to apply and a lint-free cloth to wipe away. After searching for lint-free and using it I think a paper towel might have suffice that doesn’t have lint. Let it sit for most of the day and then bought it inside the garage. WARNING: The oil has a very strong smell and luckily with the garage interior door closed we didn’t subject ourselves to that seemingly toxic smell. In the morning I put the workbench back outside and aired out the garage. This was done over the course of 3-4 days. After applying the wax it helped dissipate the smell. I started using my workbench a week or so later and am very pleased with the results.

Best Wood Oil I Know of
I live in a high precipitation and snow area. 1 coat on wood that is on the exterior has shown marvelous effectiveness against the elements. You don't need anything else. Magnifico

Easy to apply. Put on two coats. Left shiny what I wanted shiny. I don't have to worry about bugs or mold ruining my sculpture.
