I got this for my 7-year-old to use for wrestling and jiu jitsu practice at home, and it’s been a great buy. The mat is plenty thick for what we need—it provides good cushioning for basic drills, rolls, and general movement without feeling too hard underneath. It gives me peace of mind letting her practice on it. I also really like that it folds up easily, which makes it simple to store when we’re not using it and easy to move around if needed. This was a great value because I needed a mat for my long bed pickup truck for camping or overnighting on work sites. Being 4 ft wide it fits right between the standard truck wheel wells and the 8-ft length gave me full coverage.

Update: Spray mat with hairspray if it is too slippery!! We were having issues with the mat being too slippery, and after researching if there was something I could do to remedy the slipperiness, I decided on a whim to try spraying it with hairspray, and it fixed the problem completely!! We do have to respray it every few days, but I'm just delighted that the mat is now completely usable with a fairly easy solution!! The hairspray makes her feet and hands stick!! Original Review: My 11 year old daughter got this mat for Christmas. She has been taking gymnastics for about a year and is getting into back handsprings and front handsprings, so she wanted a mat to practice on at home. Overall, this is a very nice mat. The quality and thickness is great, and this is the cheapest 8 ft. mat we could find. It is also easy for her to fold and unfold. My only complaint is that she is having issues with it being too slick (her bare feet slide when she tries to plant them in her landings, and this has caused quite a few falls) when she does front walkovers, front handsprings, and back handsprings which she can do on the mats at the gym without that issue. After about a month, she is getting a little more used to it and doesn't have this issue if she wears sneakers, but in gymnastics class, she is barefoot, so she isn't too thrilled about wearing shoes. However, it is great for cartwheels, round offs, hand stands, and back walkovers. She also uses it folded to practice her over splits to increase her flexibility and has slept on it with a few friends in the living room for sleepovers. So it's definitely being used, but the slickness was a little disappointing to her especially at first. If you are purchasing this for a more serious gymnast who is really wanting to practice new skills at home, you might want to go ahead and spend more and get a more well-known brand.

Excellent for heavier folks doing calisthenics, etc. I was 290 and could fall on the mat w my knees and it rebounds. My ancestors had to fall on Meadow grass in preparation for battle, beautiful but not as cushioned as this Foam from the Future. If my Great-Great-Great-Great Grandparents had this mat to train we would own the island of Greenland or at least half of Wyoming. Good stuff. Good stuff.

This mat is a perfect add-on to the bigger mats we use for tumbling practice. It's lightweight and easy to fit in a small trunk or closet. The seams don't show any signs of ripping yet after nearly a month of use.

The kids love it. My daughter’s in rec gym so she’s really enjoying it and so is her little sister. It’s very thick and sturdy with great cushion. It’s too wide to go under her folding bars so if you’re looking for a mat for that this one may not be for that. She practices her handstands , splits , and aerials though and it’s safe enough for a crash landing.

Le tapis est arrivé dans les temps. Par contre, l’emballage de carton était abîmé. La couleur et l’épaisseur correspondent à la description, mais lorsque j’ai ouvert et déballé l’article, j’ai remarqué des taches bleues (décolorations) à plusieurs endroits sur le tapis. Elles sont impossibles à nettoyer.

C’est un bon produit mais il s’est décousu un peu. Par contre le rembourrage est de bonne qualité et ne s’est pas encore affaissé après plusieurs utilisations.

Its a gym mat. It helps my kids from getting too hurt when they're trying to learn new skills. The foam is a good quality and so far the surface material is holding up well. a bit disappointed in the handle as it broke, and used pretty limited stitching, so i'd hope they upgrade that. But it works, kids practice gymnastics and have fun. only other criticism is it slides around on our hardwood floors, so some grippy materials in 4 corners would also be a welcome upgrade, or be cheap like us and order a rug gripper pad

It is big but you should not be able to impact the floor though this mat in normal exercise use.
