Roly-Polies (Mini-Animalist)

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my oldest daughter (3) who is obsessed with roly polies. She really likes this book, but it definitely is for slightly older kids. I think in another year or so, it’ll be a even bigger hit!

Love this story for the kiddos

I think this is a very sweet book, and it was packaged well. However, the top corners of the hardcover were smashed (see pic). The packaging was rigid cardboard and it was not smashed, which tells me whomever packed this thought it was all right to ship a damaged book. I'd send it back but my niece's birthday is this weekend so there's no time. I'm disappointed and a little embarrassed to be gifting a book with a smooshed corner. She's just little so I don't think she'll care. But I care.

My daughter received this as a gift, and it is the cutest book! I read this to her class of 2nd graders, all of which had never heard of this book, but all had an opinion on roly polies before I started; they all loved roly polies and had fun finding them. This book kept them intrigued, and the illustrations were great. Coolest thing I liked about this book, was that the one my daughter received was made with "stone paper," which is not paper at all, and totally tear and waterproof. Wicked cool!

My grandson loved this book! We also purchased a roly-poly house, but from another vendor due to time constraints. I enjoy giving a book along with a toy to the little ones, so they can read the book and relive the fun times with their toy, which is usually long gone after hours of hard play.

A fun book. A nice night time read. Something different and a nice gifty.

I bought this book because I couldn't get it at the local library. Now I know why. The book has no real plot, story, lesson or ending for kids. The Roly-Polies title implies it's about the animals, but it may as well be about any animal because none of the story focus on things about the insects in question. It's also a relatively long read for a kids book, and the lack of a pay-off left me disappointed.

Very good book for my little granddaughter, she is four years old and love it.
