Fondant for Cake Decorating, Ivory (20 Pound)

This brand is amazing! Easy to work with, used for a tree truck look on a cake and it tastes so good! And I don’t like fondant typically.

Taste good and easy to work with

I cover my cakes in this Fondant. It is easy to work with and doesn't crack like some fondants. I also use it to sculp characters as decorations for children's cakes and for creating flowers for wedding or shower cakes. The shelf life has always been great, I have used it well beyond the date stamped on the container.

I am not a fan of fondant, but this one was very easy to manipulate and maneuver. Like with any fondant the taste wasn’t great but the colors are vibrant.

Worked great for a rookie cake maker! Easy to use and roll out, add color too, etc. stayed fresh until o opened it. Taste isn’t good but it’s more about the look

Best fondant I've ever tasted

I’ve been making cakes on and off for the past 8 years. I even once had my very own at home run business and did extremely well for myself. For the majority, of my previous orders, I have only used Wilton brand fondant. Now I’ve heard this is the worst kind of fondant/difficult to work with. I used it out of need because it was available easily locally. I never had any issues using Wilton. It always worked well, never gave me any issues. Fast forward to the present, I took on an order for the first time in while as I work full time out of the house now, and I decided to order satin ice, in black. It seemed like a dream as it was already colored and everyone always praises how great satin ice is. Well let me tell you, I am very skilled and know how to make / fix just about anything. I was able to make it work, but it took me forever!!!!! The fondant kept cracking, showing elephant skin defect, ripping at the bottoms, very difficult to smooth onto cakes. I was thrilled at the end of the cake, but I was still able to get it to look good. I’d give this fondant 0 stars, negative stars. This is my first review on this website and I order from Amazon A LOT!!! Honestly, I haven’t used any other but Wilton always did the job and always made my job easy. I will be purchasing Wilton again from now as before. Very disappointed with this product! What a waste of time.

I am not a huge fan on fondant but my nephew was getting married and picked out one tier of the cake that had to be fondant, not buttercream. I purchase this Satin Fine brand on referral from a friend who uses it. I have not used fondant in years and I have to say, it has come a long way! This was very vibrant in color and rolled out with ease. I "painted" on it and it held the color well.The wedding was outside and my greatest fear was melting or drying out and cracking. This cake was the base of three tiers, each with a different theme. It sat in the sun (80 degrees, low humidity) for about two hours and suffered no ill effects. It did not melt or crack. I did notice a little drying around the edge but that was all. I'm sure if the cake were inside, it would have stood proud for hours.Most surprising was the taste. When I trained in cake decorating, we used Wilton fondant which was some of the most vile stuff I have ever tasted. This however, was fabulous. It has a vanilla flavor and paired perfectly with the icing. Nobody peeled it off as I have seen at other events with cakes I didn't do. lolThis 5# pail did this 12" double layer cake with plenty to spare. There was probably enough left to do another 12" cake. If you are looking for a fondant that is easy to work with and tastes great, you have found it.

The item arrived ahead of its due date. The packaging was awful, it had the blow up plastic packing which had obviously burst due to the rough handling and it being a heavy bulky item. Box had gapped and i could see the item inside, once opened the packing had burst and the lid was off the item. This was sugar paste so luckily the bag around the sugar paste was still tightly bound but if it hadn't been this would have been no good. I would have considered sending it back if i hadn't been really desperate for it.

Unfortunately this item came with the lid off and the packet was open. The seal had not been broken either. Unfortunately this item says it is not eligible for a refund. I can not possibly chance putting it on a customer cake plus it has dried out from being open
