Vanquish 340

This model and brand came recommended to me by a pro medal detectorist who has a popular YouTube channel. She uses high-end thousand dollar Minelabs, but said for my $200 budget this would be the one I should get. She was right! This thing is amazing. Setup and ready to use a seconds, and very accurate! No lag in beeps and even though there's no pin point feature it's accurate enough to actually hit the spot every time. If you learn the swipe method to pin pointing it's even easier to locate. I found a penny and dime 4" in the ground with my first try. It was spot on with the coin detection and location. I would suggest also buying a cheap pin point wand as this makes life much easier when trying to locate tiny objects in deeper soils and sand. You can pick one up on Amazon for around $20 and they work just fine. But don't skimp on your detector! Get a Minelab. I had a very limited budget and had first purchased a $100 dollar off-brand unit and was nothing but frustrated with it. It lagged, wouldn't detect accurate, and would get a lot of background noise and false detection. I wish I had saved my $100 and put it into this unit first. My advice, spend an extra $100 and get this unit! Your life will be much happier and make this hobby far more fun and worth it. I've now found .11 cents with it so far and only have $198.89 left to find to pay for itself. LOL It's a great hobby to get you out walking and you never know what you will find! It's super fast and easy to setup, lightweight but sturdy, adjustable. Some reviews complained it was too flimsy. I would say it's not flimsy, but strong and lightweight. It's plastic so it won't rust when you are out in the water or rain but it's strong. You don't want to be swinging something heavy for hours. I've used this for at least 2 hours at a time and never got tired and never a sore muscle. This unit also comes with a Micro USB port in the battery compartment so you can install MineLab software updates to keep your unit working its best! I updated mine right after I got it. If you are looking to get into detecting and only have a $200 budget, you can't go wrong with this brand and model! It comes with a 3 year transferable warranty as well. I'm new to this hobby and loving it. Hope this review helps others like myself.

The metal detector works great. Received in perfect condition. I have only used it once so far and it works perfect. Easy to learn the settings and I am very happy the way it works. A great deal for the price.

It is a very basic metal detector it's pretty much turn on and go. The multi IQ function is fantastic as is all the minelab models. This is a basic functionality metal detector which is easily usable from adults. Write down to kids. If you have very little experience in metal detecting, this is your option That will probably suit your best as you begin your journey in metal detecting and the learning curve that comes with the hobby... The coil is great, it's not too big, not too small. There is no skid plate for it. The machine seems like it is made very cheap. But it does do a great job detecting metals.

This detector is very simple to use. Truly a turn on and go machine. It has excellent detection depth and accurate target ID with excellent battery life. It is very compact, transportable and gives high performance for the price. Some users might not need to upgrade to a more complex machine.

Great metal detector for the price!

This is a good detector been very light due to carbon fiber shafts which are also very easy to adjust. My only issue is that it does not have pinpoint feature and does not include the velcro strap for the cuff. The next model up does. I was aware of this before purchasing but did not feel like shelling out the extra dollars for it. I found a ring the first day of use with this. I almost want to return it for the lack of pinpoint but I still want to use it. Overall it is a good product.

This thing is great , I’ve only had it a few days but I’m finding things I wouldn’t expect to find , tiny bullet casings , size 4 lead shot all at over 6 inches down , found what we believe to be a Roman coin ( not confirmed yet) and an 1855 silver sixpence, it’ll find iron all day long , rusty old horseshoes at a foot deep , you can filter out the iron and soon get used to its sounds , highly recommended

Still learning to use but great for the price point for an entry level detector. I have already found some treasures.

Mein Sohn und ich, waren durch Youtuber aufmerksam geworden, auf das Sondelhobby. Nach längerer Recherche, haben wir uns aus Preis/Leistungsgründen für diesen entschieden. Bedienung ist ansich einfach und klar verständlich. Man muss Erfahrung sammeln, bei welchem Signal und Geräusch, entsprechendes Metall zu finden ist. Alles in Allem sind wir sehr begeistert. Der Detektor ist im Dauereinsatz. Zur Feinbestimmung aufjedenfall noch ein PinPointer benutzen.
