Great organization and approach. BUT the small format makes it difficult to follow the author's explanations.

Not as informative as I thought it would be. Somewhat misleading title. The book has taken specific artworks and develops a section to each in describing what different aspects of that piece. In that its quite good, but I came away with no greater ability to look at art that I had before I read it.

Disappointed with the content
Disappointed with the content. Simply portrays a series of paintings and talks about the details, but the reader doesn't provide explanations to apply to art in general. Also, it should be titled, "How to read paintings", not "How to read art"...

The book size is very small and therefore, the pictures of the paintings are also small, impossible to view any detail. Also I was expected more content and was a bit disappointed. Could not read until the end.

Book is too small
I find the book is informative. However, the book is so small, you can't really see the detail of the painting unless you read the detail explanation in the following pages which the magnified pic offers some clues. I wish the next edition will have the book expand to twice of it's size at least.

Pleased with purchase
This book is so full of information that I found I had to buy an Art Dictionary in order to fully understand it.
