No other codes came up, so, this vehicle, bought on Craigslist for $1700.00, is a real bargain, with 140,000 miles, and should work well for another 360,000+miles! We have a couple more with >280,000 miles on them, without problems! Also, bought those others, All Wheel Drives, on CL for <$900,00 each.Excelvan U480 reads, and resets codes. This is a well made device, at a GREAT price!The booklet is well written, with instructions, pictures, and lists the trouble codes in the 46 page booklet, on pages 12 through 46.The package is suitable for my storage of the book and Excelvan U480 Scanner. Nice tool, which would have cost me$46,000.00 if I had bought the SnapOn diagnostic scope cart, instead...Actually, you can go to most auto parts stores, and get codes read for free, but, their interpretation of the code might not be accurate, and you might purchase expensive parts that don't always repair the real problem!Better to have the proper tools in your possession, and with some knowledge, it saves time, money, towing, and travel!

I own a 2001 Toyota Highlander, and have grown tired of getting charged for code reading at my nearby mechanic. Thanks to this inexpensive device, I can now easily diagnose check engine alerts myself. For this reason alone, I am happy with my purchase.The device runs on power drawn from the car, and so requires no batteries. The absence of any internal power system is part of the reason for the extremely light weight of the device, but the build is still very cheap. I've used it myself a few times, and have loaned it to a few friends to check out their vehicles, and so far there has been no issue pulling up codes to research online. If you aren't nearby a mechanic or auto parts store that will diagnose check engine codes for free, this will pay for itself with one use or less.

Package came on time and as expected in new condition with adequate packaging.Item works properly and as described.Pros: Great price, gives you readings of check engine lights, let's you clear codes.Cons: Navigation within the device is a little weird and takes getting use to, codes are generic and have to be referenced in the provided book and then probably online.Conclusion: For the price you can't go wrong. After getting use to the controls you can simply connect it up, pull the code, look up the problem online in reference to your vehicle and then delete the code if needed. Other devices cost substantially more just to give the exact problem and solution within the device. Let's face it though, you will eventually be online looking up the problem anyways. You might as well save the money for your repairs.

Let's see. THe garage wanted $45 to read the "check engine" light code and Autozone no longer does it due to law suits, so for $20 I've now got this in my glovebox. It worked perfectly displaying the error code on my Jeep (which I looked up on Google to find out what was wrong and how to fix it) and I also used it to read a friend's BMW error code. Super simple to use with the instruction book included. Clears the code lights, too. If I ever lose this, I'll buy another one.

Just buy this. It easily reads the codes and you can Google what they mean. The instruction book stinks but who cares, that is what the internet is for. The best part of it is you can reset the engine light. I have used it on four people's care now with no issues. Here in town most places want a diagnostic fee of $49. You can buy this and make your money back in one time of using it. The shop hates me when I come in with the diagnostic code and I tell them what is wrong. They can't up charge me like everyone else.

I have used this a couple of times to diagnose my 2011 Nissan Maxima and let me tell you, this little gadget sure did come in handy! It was easy to use, easy to read, and easy to follow the instructions. I am definitely happy I purchased this because auto shops sometimes charge to the pull an error code so to alleviate that nonsense, I just purchased one of my own at a fairly decent price too! Get one, it is very convenient to have on hand, trust me!

For the money this is a great little tool. I received mine today and hooked it up to my sons Chevy on which we had been trying to solve some problems. The check engine light was not on, but the U480 promptly came up with PO121, so now we have a starting place. It also reported the O2 sensors OK on the emissions scan. We had been worried that at least one of the O2's bad. So if I never use this again, it has already paid for itself.

Easy to use, must have to safe unnecessary trips to a mechanic. Have to google the code given but has saved me money identifying key problems
