NICE, POLISHED, MID-SIZE River Rocks for top dressing. Not sure the price is right however.
These are great MID-SIZED, POLISHED, MULTI-COLORED, river rocks!I use them to top dress large houseplants/trees. However, I ended up buying the rest that I needed from a local big box home improvement store. This one 18lb box covered only one 20inch diameter planter, and about a third of a second. So for twenty bucks per plant/tree -- this is a deal breaker. [NOTE: The price makes total sense when you think about shipping cost -- but for the sake of the environment and my pocketbook -- I won't be getting the LARGE ones online again. But I LOVE the tiny black ones! See separate review.]I found a lot of the reviews less than helpful because I could not accurately determine size and coverage. I'm hoping to help you out here. See pics first.1) SIZE: I would not call these 'large.' These are MID-SIZED -- see pic. They are about the size of an....avocado pit, with a few slightly larger. Some are smaller, a few are much smaller. They are fine, but I would in no way characterize these as "large." I guess it's all relative.2) POLISH: They ARE "polished" with something. I'd guess it is some kind of sprayed on wax or oil. There is a pic with me holding these rocks in my hand (in a blue glove) beside the ones I got from the local big box store (which do NOT have a shiny, polished finish). Shiny or not shiny -- whichever you prefer--you should know that these ARE polished. I like the polished look but would NEVER use these in a fish tank or around living critters.3) COST for THESE 'LARGE' rocks: They work out to about a buck seventy-ish per pound, and are not going to cover more than....say two square feet? You should know that they are available at your local big box home improvement store with the orange logo -- UNpolished-- for MUCH LESS. If you need more than one box, it just isn't cost effective to buy these online. You can get 40lbs for one third this cost at your local big box store. True. BUT -- they aren't as purty (unpolished). :-)5) COVERAGE: So, this is why I love/recommend buying the SMALL size black rocks from this vendor (see other review), but NOT these ones ("large"). I didn't really know what to expect and hoped one 18lb box would cover more. Here's what it covers (see pics which are self explanatory). First, know that I dumped the whole box on one 20inch diameter planter. It looked fine but a bit.... overdone (this is the pic you see). I went back and handpicked off about a third so that it was single-rock-depth coverage. It looked much more aesthetically pleasing, and leaves me with a solid estimate for you:For a 20in planter, you will use about 11-12lbs (or 2/3 of the box) to get about 1 rock-deep-level coverage.Hope the pics help!

Good pebbles, very good quality and weight.
I really like these, you get the right amount and enough for decorating I wanted them to fill a very large decorating bottle and I had some leftovers they probably work great for fish tanks or the like as well. They arrived really fast but the box is very heavy just beware all in all there were only like 2 pebbles that were broken but there were a TON of them so I am glad I got these, I may get more later for my garden.

Too big. :/
These are larger than what I need. I’d like to use them in a betta fish bowl and I’ve had problems with bettas dying because they got under stones this size and were unable to get out. I lost two different fish that way in a large vase that had kind of a smaller section in the bottom (see photo) that I’d filled with stones like this. I wanted smaller pebbles.I kind of knew from other reviews that these might be larger than expected and hoped I could at least use them as top dressing for plants but they’re also too big for that with the small pots I typically use for my succulents. I’m going to have to sent them back. They are very pretty stones and well polished. There are very few 0.6” size and most are over an inch.

Attractive rocks, used for decorating indoors
I was very satisfied with these for my purposes - arrived quickly, seemed like good price. The rocks look very nice and smooth. I am just using them for decorating with plants indoors. If you're wondering how much volume 18 lbs of these rocks is, I'd eyeball it at around the size of a shoebox. The packaging didn't say anything about them being safe to use in an aquarium so I would personally hesitate to use them for that w/o more research.

Nice rocks!
It was a box of rocks! Just as I ordered,18lbs of polished river rocks. Best rocks I think I've ever bought. Smooth with a nice shine. I used them for decorative rocks in plant pots and they did what they were supposed to do. Would recommend.
