Great product!
I've been using Boat Life Life caulk for years with great results. I prefer it over other brands. Generally it is better priced that some other brands and my results have been consistent over the years. I always keep a spare tube on the boat at all times.

Stops leaks
I replaced the transom in my Jon boat. Instead of rivets I used stainless nuts and bolts with marine grade silicone. It Leaked!!! I removed the bolts, cleaned off the silicone and reinstalled them with Life Caulk. Problem solved. NO LEAKS!!! This stuff is great

Have used it for years for under water repairs with generally good results
Tried to stop an under water leak in a hot tub-held for a couple weeks but finally let go. Think 104 degrees finally got to it.

Great boat caulk
Two tubes I ordered came in great shape, smooth consistency, etc. They do have date codes on the packaging. A suggestion for the tube blowout - as the caulk is very thick, the tendency is to press really hard on the tube to get it to flow. Proceed slowly and patiently, and try to use the largest bead you can. Selecting the smallest opening in the cap will mean you have to work very slowly. When you have squeezed up a little from the bottom, fold the tube about 1 inch up, and then hold your fold to keep pressure off the factory tube-end. I have had an open tube for about a week, and it is still usable.

This is great stuff
Everyone with a boat will have to decide what sealant is best for them, their skill level, and application. I use Boat Life for deck hardware more than 3M, Sika or West Marine's store brand. It works well for bedding hardware on a 40 year old Bristol. Do your homework before using any product on a boat - especially if the use will be submerged. This is a cost effective product that works very well. Wish this and other companies would sell smaller, one use amounts for very small jobs.

Bad bottom seal on tube
Been using Lifecalk in cartridges since 1988. GREAT product. I had small install of GPS on boat so bought small tube, filled screw holes with small nozzle. I removed the small nozzle to fill the 1 inch hole where cable went through the transom. When I squeezed the tube, the bottom of the tube blew out and Lifecalk all over. Cleaned area with acetone and threw my clothes away. OTHERWISE still a great product, just make sure the bottom seal on the tube stays secure.
