Runner's World Meals on the Run: 150 Energy-Packed Recipes in 30 Minutes or Less: A Cookbook Review: Easy to prepare and easy to love recipes! - I have made five recipes since buying this cookbook seven days ago. All five were easy to prepare and exceeded my expectations. The Multigrain Pancakes were wonderful. The Black and White Bean Sausage Soup was very tasty. The Chai Pumpkin Oatmeal needed a little more maple syrup than what was listed in the recipe, but it tasted great. The Chocolate Chip Trail Mix Balls are a new favorite (although I would suggest using a food processor to chop the nuts and pumpkin seeds into smaller pieces which in turn makes it easier to form the mixture into balls). Tonight I made the Quick Cooking Barley and Kale Soup and I will definitely make it again. After all of this cooking I have had good energy for my workouts and have felt well. This is definitely my new go-to cookbook for preparing healthy and tasty weeknight meals. Review: Easy to prep and make, delicious to eat - The Runners World Cookbooks are two of our favorite cookbooks! We have bought this as a gift for others as well. The meals are simple, flavorful, and balanced with carbs, proteins, and fats. This cookbook has some recipes that push us out of our comfort zone but with normal ingredients that are easy to find. Nothing too crazy in this cookbook that you're unwilling to try it. The spin on a simple egg salad sandwich with a curry egg salad sandwich is great!

Awesome healthy cookbook
I don't always have a lot of time to cook, so I was falling in a rut of making the same few quick healthy meals, and was getting tired of them. This book gave me a lot of great and quick ideas. I especially like that most of the recipes you can use as a base and easily make your own additions or substitutions. The recipes are labeled for pre-run / recovery / snack etc. and I found this really helpful when planning my week. I train every day, so the less time I spend planning and laboring in the kitchen, the better.

Wonderful Running Resource
Got this book a couple days ago and have already cooked a few recipes, which were delicious! My favorite part about the book is the "tags" at the top of each page indicating what this meal is best for (recovery, pre-workout, post-workout, gluten-free, etc). My one criticism, if it can be called that (maybe feedback is a better term?), is that I would have loved to see a designated space for each recipe to include notes. For runners, recording how they reacted to certain meals, modifications to recipe's, etc would be valuable information to record (very similar to a running log). I am resorting to sticky notes, but having it on the page would be a nice future addition to the book (I would buy that copy!). Otherwise, fantastic book; would recommend to any runner wanting to improve their diet and need guidance on what to eat and when.

great photos, easy to follow, fast recipes that leave you feeling healthy and great
I am about a third way thru making all the recipes in this book. I am a busy mom who runs as do my 2 kids and husband so this recipe book has been great. Lots of great photos and easy to read directions. The recipes are easy to follow and I have not had to buy too many ingredients I would never use again. I would not say that I am an experienced cook but I really like healthy food and am a gluten free/dairy free ovo pescatarian , the rest of the family has no restrictions but my son is extremely picky. I like the way the top of the pages state if the recipe is pre run, recovery gluten free etc, I had been running out of ideas of what to cook an have found this book very helpful. My family ( & picky son) voted the best recipe in the book to be the broiled tilapia with mango chutney. Some of my favories :Red Lentil Soup. Bolonese over shells, pizza margherita, asparagus and mushroom rice bowl, roasted curry cauliflower. I highly recommend this book!

This might be the best cook book I've ever owned
This might be the best cook book I've ever owned. Very easy to make and the most importantly, healthy!! I've already made at least a dozen meals from this book. They were all tasty. I also like the amount of proteins, etc. listed for each meal, as I am very close to vegetarian and always wondered if I'm getting enough protein. This book made my life a lot easier.

Great cookbook in general, and super nice that it's catered to runners
Really great variety of recipes, all very easy to prepare, and a lot of overlapping ingredients so less to shop for at the grocery store. And everything seems very healthy. Great cookbook in general, and super nice that it's catered to runners!
