Gorgeous colors & extras in this set!
I love these watercolor crayons! I recently started venturing into other watercolor mediums (pencils, crayons) for fun - I'm not an artist by any means - and bought a set of 12 that were not marketed as "gelatos" (aka: cheaper) and liked them. So I found this set at a killer price and splurged...I am so glad I did! The variety of colors is wonderful and they're beyond your standard color spectrum. I do find that using a gesso on whatever surface I'm working with makes blending much easier, so for the important stuff, I add that step. I will say that, compared to the cheaper ones (not called "gelatos"), they do seem just slightly different, and I can't really say how - mainly in the ease of blending and perhaps a slightly smoother application. They look just the same, and are packaged just the same, so they very well might be the exact same product, but they act differently for me on the exact same surfaces. I only use my fingers or a brush for blending, but I like the little tools that come with this, and it's opened me up to a few new ones I wouldn't have thought about. The box is gorgeous and something you don't mind having out if that's your organizational system. Clean up from fingertips is a breeze with water.

Awesome medium
Used on canvas. Little goes long way blends easily with make up sponges included can be wetted and painted like water color applies smoothly like oil pastels. Vibrant colors blend to make new colors and color gradients. Dried fast and nearly completely highly satisfied highly recommend! Can also blend with fingers and wipe off much for errors

Beautiful bright rich colors
I initially ordered the Gelatos because they appeared to be versatile in their uses, including wet and dry use, smudgable with a finger and produce bright color. They can be used with stamps, used to color over images in art journals, to create beautiful backgrounds for cards or journal pages, add touches of color to mixed media paintings and it's possible to cut a bit of the product off the tip, put in a small spray bottle with water and create color sprays. The set of 28 is a bit pricey, but I'm happy with the results I'm getting in my own art journals and mixed media pieces that I feel they are worth the price for me. Faber-Castell also has many smaller kits with new colors so that you can keep adding to your collection. I think any crafter or artist would find good use for these colorful pigment tubes. Their consistency is similar to lipstick or chapstick, they glide on substrates nicely, and they can be layered with other products (especially the Faber Castell big brush markers). The brightness of the color was a real draw for me. They don't feel particularly greasy once on the page, but I do spray workable fixative over them to insure the color stays put when I start layering other media.

Versatile and vibrant, but performance matches budget brand
I like this Gelatos set โ the colors are vibrant, they blend smoothly with water, and theyโre fun to use for journaling and mixed media. They go on creamy and layer well without getting muddy. That said, I donโt find them noticeably better than KingArtโs version, which costs less. Performance feels very similar, so while this set is enjoyable, itโs not necessarily a better value. If you want the Faber-Castell name and solid packaging, these are great. But if youโre mainly after performance, you can get the same results from more affordable alternatives.

Fabulous!
Iโm relatively new to mixed media art (COVID-19 hobby), and these gelatos were a happy surprise. They are easy to use in multiple ways, and pretty much mess free. Lots of fun and worth the price!

The box arrived in perfect condition. I initially wanted the Gelatos because they appeared to be versatile in their uses, including wet and dry use, smudgable with a finger and produce bright color. Love these gelatos
Love these gelatos! They are so much fun. While I am by no means and expert with them, there are a lot of videos on the internet to help provide ideas on how you can use them. It's taken a lot of playing around with them, but I have been able to create some cool effects and hope to continue to be able to do so. It's fun creating your own paper background and really great for art journals among other things. The metallics included in this gift set are the most fun and my favorite!

Vibrant colors for cardmakers!
I absolutely LOVE these colors! I think of them as crayons for grownups, but they are really much more. I use them for both cards and scrapbooking to color stamped images. For a special look, I stamp and emboss the image first. The embossing acts as a resist giving a lovely effect. They go on smooth directly on paper and can be blended with a wet paintbrush or baby wipe giving the color a soft edge. Be careful not to overwork the product as this wears the paper. On YouTube you can find many more techniques to use with this product including using the gelato directly on a wet stamp, making a mist with the gelato and more. This is a large set, so the buyer has lots of color choices to explore on a rainy afternoon and even the novice like myself can achieve wonderful results. There is a less expensive gel stick available that works almost as well, but not quite. I hope you have as much fun playing with these as I am having.

Thank you Supermart USA!
Wow, wow, wow! I bought this gift set of Gelatos for myself just after Christmas and it came on January 9th all the way from the US at a brilliant price (about half of what it would have cost from a UK seller!) with free postage and no extra customs fee. I don't know how you guys do it! It' s a brilliant product! I already had a few Gelatos so I knew what to expect. They're really creamy and blend easily, especially on gessoed surfaces. I absolutely love them and I'm so happy that I bought them! If you're dreaming about this set but you think the current price is too much, just hang in there and wait for a special offer.

Super fun!
These are a great medium to try out. I've done a good few artworks with them now and the things I would note are: - They are better for bigger artworks or artworks with not much detail as they are a thick stick. For areas that are smaller I will usually apply the pigment with water. - They are sooo smooth and creamy, really fun to lay down and blend because of this quality. - They dry fairly quickly, and once they are dry they do not rub off as much as my oil pastels do. - You can etch into the applied marks nicely. - Really fun if you are the type who enjoys getting hands-on with your medium.
