Seems like in so many tutorials on YOUTUBE they are using this color. I was told long ago by one of my first instructors to be careful with Payne's grey as it can such the life out of a painting so I have always been wary of it. I usually mix my own shadows so have never used it. I bought it to have on hand for there are other instructions on it's uses.

Love the blue tone.
I like grays and realize that they are different. Some lean one way in color while another leans a different way. I have ended up using this Payne's Gray more than I had expected. When I first started watercolor, I didn't like it, but Daniel Smith's brand of this color has made me really enjoy using it.
