I had been looking for this part for a while I had no clue what to call the item, after searching on amazon for replacement shower valve I saw this item which looked like the part I needed, the part that I had did not have any markings or model number, however, they looked to be the same part, I placed the order and received my replacement within a week, once installed I noticed that there was still a very slow leak from the shower head, however within a few days I did not see any leaking, the replacement worked great and know what it is and have the part number in the event I need to replace it again.

Perfect fit for my model. Easy installation! Fixed my dripping issue. I was worried I wouldn’t find replacement part since fixture was installed approximately 18 years ago but was relieved to find Pfister still manufactures parts!!!

This part is a perfect replacement part for use in a Price-Pfister 0X8 valve body. The failure mode that this part corrects is the reduction or stoppage of water through the valve. The specific failure this reviewer has encountered three times previously is the reduction or stoppage of hot water flow through the valve. This part is supposed to maintain a constant temperature of the water coming out of the valve (read, the shower head) if the pressure of the hot or cold water entering the valve fluctuates (read, someone flushed a toilet somewhere and things are going to get real hot!)Personal experience will probably lead one to believe that this compensatory feature may not work all that well, but it seems to be the compensating mechanism within this part that fails. If you notice a reduction or stoppage in water flow, this is the part you need. It is easy to disassemble the valve and replace the part. Just put everything in as it came out and put a little plumber's grease on the O-rings as you reassemble. The grease will enable the valve handle to be turned very smoothly and protect the O-rings from premature wear. Have fun.

My shower is working again but now you get to the hot water first as opposed to how they normally work. A slight inconvenience but should be noted.

This was purchased as part a refurb of my shower control. The shower had become temperamental for adjustment and any variation in water pressure would cause either scalding or freezing water. The part appears to be a real Pfister part and fit as such. The shower control operation was returned to as-new operation. Easy temperature adjustment and no more wild fluctuations.
