Great product, highly recommended!
Updated to five stars on April 8, 2025. Ecovacs sent me another unit and this one is amazing. It seems the units I had to return may have been a part of a bad batch. The new unit has triggered zero error messages for the past few weeks, cleans and mops amazingly well after quickly scanning and mapping my rather large house in less than 30 min. The AI is responsive and well implemented. The best part, and the ultimate reason I stuck with Ecovacs, is the level of support I received, and the commitment to resolve my issues, which is super rare these days. A bit of constructive feedback on the Ecovacs app: - The cleaning log currently only reports each session as "Rooms Cleaning", along with duration of sq footage of each job. It would be substantially more useful if the log included which room(s) were cleaned in each job and what type of cleaning was done (i.e. Vac, Vac and Mop or Mop after Vac). - The bugs I reported in my original review are still yet to be fixed. Overall, I am impressed with the X8 Pro Omni and would highly recommended. Original review: I really wanted the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni to work. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a disappointment and I would not recommend it. I saw the Deebot X8 Pro Omni at CES in January and bought it as soon as it became available on Amazon in February. Out of the box, the unpacking and setup experience was seamless and I was very impressed. The bot very quickly scanned and mapped my rather large house with little corrections. The app is pretty intuitive and I very quickly figured it out. The problems started on Day 2 of using the Deebot. It started throwing a "Bumper Stuck" error for no reason. It would do that 8 or 9 times per run regardless of whether it was vacuuming or mopping. Each time the bot was not actually stuck under furniture in any way, just sitting there waiting to be reset. To get it to continue, I would need to bump the bumper as instructed in the app, and then push the button on the bot to continue. For a modern top-of-the-line Ai-enabled bot that is supposed to vacuum and clean the house without intervention, this was a terrible experience. It is virtually impossible to leave this machine to finish the job on its own without having to bump it and reset it every few minutes. In fairness, Ecovacs email support was pretty responsive. I contacted them and they asked me to reset the bot to factory settings, then start over. That didn't help, unfortunately, as the bot kept throwing the same "Bumper Stuck" error every few minutes after reset. At some point, a piece of plastic fell out of the machine. I sent a picture to Ecovacs support and they determined that the broken piece could be causing the "Bumper Stuck" problem. Ecovacs offered to send me a replacement unit, but would not specify timeline and I decided to return it to Amazon instead as it was faster and more convenient. I immediately purchased another Deebot X8 Pro Omni as I thought the first one was just bad luck getting a defective unit. On Day 2 of running the new unit, the same exact issue started happening. "Bumper Stuck" error every few minutes without the bot actually being stuck in any way. I contacted support again and they offered to send me another replacement, without committing to a timeline again. I decided I'd had enough of unpacking, packing and repacking Deebots, so I returned it through Amazon again and have since purchased a different brand, which should be delivered in the next few days. I do like Ecovacs as a brand, but it seems they may have released the X8 Pro Omni a bit prematurely. The product needs a lot more testing to deliver to expectations. In addition to the issues described above, I discovered a few more bugs while going through the process of troubleshooting. - The app has a couple of areas that reach a dead-end blank screen, forcing you to completely kill and restart the app to get out. - When the station's dirty water tank is full, instead of showing a message to empty it, the app throws a "Robot dirty water box error" with instructions to pull the box from the bot and "clean it". Well, the dirty water box on the bot is full simply because the station's dirty water tank is full, not because it has malfunctioned, and you need to find that out by trial and error. Bottom line, not ready for prime time. I'd wait for this product to mature a bit before purchasing.

effective & reliable. requires TLC. (in-depth review)
overall this robot is excellent & effective. it is also sophisticated and requires a fair amount of TLC. expect a learning curve, especially for initial configuration and to customize for your house. I have a single level 2k sq ft hard floor house. --โญโญโญโญโญ because the performance far outweighs the negatives-- I bought this specifically because of the roller-style mop (with dirty water tank!) and ability to specify no-go areas to avoid cords. performance is excellent for both. GTK: - this X8 is nearly identical to the Yeedi S14. both brands are owned by the same company. filters are interchangeable. - there is an initial learning curve to figure out the app, settings, maintenance, how to unclog as needed, etc. after that hurdle (5 wks) I do love it. - thick wool carpets are basically not compatible (to be fair, these are tricky for anything except my Dyson upright) - it has trouble with my 3x5 Ruggable: slightly flips up the the edges & corners - the chenglish voice is amusing, but understandable. it says 'starting intelliGent (hard g) cleaning' & '*arrived* start time'. - hair: handles hair well - I have long hair. I also have a short haired dog that sheds a lot. it handles both well. - thresholds: I have low thresholds between wood & tile. it crosses these easily but occasionally leaves some debris (acceptable imho) - app: the android app is good & bug-free. scenario clean & schedule features are excellent. otherwise the UX is good-ish; moderately intuitive. it's extensive. took me a while to find all the important elements. Set up: - mapping UI is good & lots of features, but glitchy. initial setup is easy, but I spent at least a few hrs tweaking it. (for example, it's difficult to know precisely where to locate furniture or virtual boundaries because you can only see walls in that view. cleaning paths & current robot position are not displayed) - initially, plan to invest several hours over the first few weeks to set up & learn this robot & app. - the unit is larger than you might think from the pics. 18"dx14wx21h. i put it under a built-in cabinet-style desk, and it takes up ~60% of the knee area. Maintenance - there are several components to clean/maintain. they are easily accessible. - the app does a good job of notifying you when to do maintenance, with illustrations - the debris filter is under the top cover. this is not mentioned in the printed manual - there is a drain tray in the base. also not mentioned Special maintenance: - debris: my robot accidentally vacuumed a wet bathroom floor, which clogged the debris channel. took a bit to figure out how to remove components to unclog it, but overall I was impressed that the design makes all the channels accessible for maintenance. the robot did not alert me that it was clogged, but it was leaving large trails of wet debris. - mop: the channel to empty the dirty water became clogged. resolved after cleaning the drain pan & dirty water box new users: - I've had iRobots for many years so I wasn't surprised by the general traits. but here's are some points first any new users - this is about as loud as a normal stick vac. so you probably aren't going to want to read or watch tv while it's running. - it takes a long while to clean. it has to travel back to the base to empty debris & clean the mop. the vacuum then mop also requires extra travel time. it also cleans under furniture, so more area than an upright vacuum. - if you haven't used a robot mop or vacuum before, expect very dirty water & lots of debris collection for the first few weeks. (even if your house is already very clean) recommend empty the dirty water frequently to keep it fresh. for one thing it's cleaning *under* furniture.

My expectations were definitely too high (as well as the price I paid for what I got.)
**Update after 6 months of using it, I'm downgrading it from 4 stars to 1 star** It's still an amazing vacuum cleaner. It deeps cleans the carpet and does a good job of vacuuming on the tile floors. BUT! the auto-empty doesn't empty itself, I have to manually clean it out every single time it returns to the base. The cleaning solution holder still has the same amount as when I first filled it, so evidently that is not being used. I have yet to figure out how to make the mop not leave streaks on the tile floors - I've set it at high water, medium water, and low water usage and all of the settings leave streaks. These are especially bad on the places where the robot rotates around table legs leaving circular streaks. The robot gets stuck a lot, sometimes over and over in the same place even when I move it to a different spot (it will just return to the same spot.) All of this means I can't leave the house if the robot is running because I will come home to a stuck robot and a vacuum dust bin that is overflowing. And it still takes forever to do any of the jobs I ask - vacuuming the two bedrooms and one closet that have carpet (400 sq. ft.) takes an hour. That's if it doesn't have to be unstuck from something. I'd throw it away tomorrow except I paid $1000 for this robot, what a dope. Original Review - Here's what's good about the vacuum part of it - it is a awesome vacuum, getting actual dirt out of my carpets. Here's what's not good - it's so good at vacuuming the carpet that the dustbin fills up, clogs up, and then doesn't empty. I have to manually clean out the dustbin after each carpeted room. Kind of defeats the purpose of an "automatic" vacuum. Here's what's good about the mop part - I'm not having to mop the floor myself. But I had to set the water "level" at 40 (high) to keep it from streaking. And it took a little bit of figuring out to set it to mop up and down the same direction as the tile planks instead of going across them so you can't see the lines of where it mops. But my main dissatisfaction with this is that it is SLOW! I have about 1200 sq ft of tile floors and it takes almost 3 hours for it to vacuum and mop. Again, not having to do it myself is worth a lot, but trying to keep the dogs off the floor for that long is a chore too.

Never have dirty floors again!
This is truly the upper echelon of robot vacuums. Ecovacs has done an immaculate job of improving on the T30 version of the vacuum. There are so many small things changes and configurations that set this vacuum apart from others. I have three dogs, hardwood floors, tile, and carpet rugs so I run this vacuum every single day. I'll break down my thoughts below. SETUP Setup is extremely easy - only needing to attach the base piece to the station and plug it in. For the vacuum just snap the small brush on. The app setup is really easy as well - scan the QR code on the vacuum and follow the steps in the Ecovacs app. VACUUM The most important question for any robot vacuum is does it do what it should, and how well. The vacuum delivers on all levels. This is one of the few vacuums that I feel does a great job on standard suction and you don't have to use turbo suction (which saves battery). I primarily have tile and hardwood floors with a few small rugs, so I can't speak to carpet too much. This vacuum has a small extender for the corner brush that does a great job of getting hard to reach areas. MOP This is another area where they have done a lot of improvement. There is a roller brush that does a great job of mopping hardwood floors. The mop extends out to get all the way to the end of walls really well. PITCREW (Station) The docking station makes everything a breeze. The dust bag is larger, the water tanks are bigger, and they have added a cleaning solution tank to automatically add floor cleaner to the water. I haven't had any issues at all and love everything about it! The water tank lasts about 2 weeks using it frequently. The dust bag lasts about a month for me. I have 2 dogs that shed so that is pretty good. APP / MAPPING Not to be repetitive, but this is another area where they have made a lot of improvements. The app does everything you expect, but I'll highlight a few things: If the robot ever gets stuck the robot will mark the map and recommend where to add barriers to prevent getting stuck again. After a few runs it no longer gets stuck. The app has some great settings like the option to force the robot to go vacuum if the water tank is empty (when it is supposed to mop and vac). There is an option in the app to vacuum carpet/rugs first, then vac and mop everything else. This is nice since sometimes the mop will get rugs damp. You can also set rug suction boost OR reduce sensitivity so it doesn't suck up thin rugs and drag them due to strong suction. There are also nice option to reduce noise like have the vacuum sit lower to the floor, and even reduce dust collection power at the station so it isn't too loud. FINAL THOUGHTS This review is already really long so I'll end it there, but I am so impressed by so many small things about this vacuum that I can't list everything. It really goes above and beyond in adding so many small customizations that are provide a solution to small complaints about other vacuums. Although expensive it is absolutely worth every penny.

Very happy overall, but there is room for improvement
I have the Deebot T8 AIVI, the Ozmo Pro mop, and the Auto Empty Bin. I've run the robot about 6 times so far. This is my first robo vac, but I did read amd watch reviews for months before deciding on this one. I have a 2600 Sq ft 1 story home, all hard flooring except for the bedrooms. Setup: Very easy. The app and instructions walk you through it step by step. Navigation: Works really well. I was very surprised at how well it can get around things, and wedge itself in and out of tight spots by backing up into them if it needs to. It will run around the edge and then section off the room and fill in rows, then it will go and try to get spots that it missed. Mapping: The LIDAR works very well, it will have 85% of the "middle" of the room mapped within seconds, then it will fill in the gaps as it edges around it. No robot will be perfect at this, but it does a good job. I did screw up the map the first time because it was about to go under my bed and I paused it, then I moved it backwards about 1 inch and put a barrier around my bed. This caused it to think it was in some other place and it started overlaying the map. Don't do what I did. I had to reset the map, start it at the charger and start over. Initial mapping took almost its entire battery life because it will "wander around" a bit, to fill in all the gaps, during that process. I think all robo-vacs have this challenge to some degree. I advise you prepare your home, keep an eye on it, and stay out of it's way,, until the initial map is done.. Once the initial map is done, you can set up all your boundaries, preferences, etc and it works quite well with much less battery. Obstacle avoidance: Personally, I choose to prepare my house, by picking up anything problematic off the floor, and moving things to give it room to get around stuff, similar to how I would if I were cleaning myself. The better you prepare the better it will do. Remeber, even with "AI" it's still a dumb machine so stay on the side of caution. That's said, it works quite well to avoid things in its way if it can see them. It's doesn't need to know what they are to avoid them. I did a bit of my own testing and it avoided flat socks about 75% of the time. Anything that sticks up more (shoes, hats, dog toys) it avoided basically every time... except for one time when it knocked over my flimsy tree lamp, which I caught before it fell. Added a "no-go" boundary and it's not a problem at all anymore. Vacuum performance: hard floor is excellent, carpet is excellent, rugs vary quite a bit. I don't chance it with bath mats, low "heavier area rugs are fine. I have one rug under my desk that it doesn't get much dog hair off of, I usually hit that with a high powered corded vac. Everything sticks to that rug though, so it's just a pain regardless. Mop performance: meh... the standard mop is just kinda silly to expect much out of, the Ozmo Pro is much better, but it's not going to get out anything that really requires some scrubbing. It performs fine on my faux hardwood, it's kinda lacking on my kitchen tile. You can tell it to go over areas twice and use max water flow, which does help more. Do not use cleaning solution in the reservoir- they warn you about this several times. It will cause damage over time. The App: I really don't like the App. It's ok I guess, but it's features are very basic. You can't make custom room names, rather they give you a small pre made list of names to choose from, or generic "A", "B", "C"... this is annoying because Alexa will allow you to make custom names for your other device groups. I find this severely disappointing. The map editing is another sad story. You can divide and merge rooms, but only within very limited parameters. I can't divide my kitchen and living room the way they are actually laid out, so for now I just have to deal with it. They did an update to fix many of the bugs from previous versions, so I haven't experienced any app crashing or anything like that... just very limited features. Customer service: in my case.. very responsive. I sent them a message in app about the room dividing issue and they got back to me within 24hrs with answers. I can't complain about that. Maintenance: I clean after every 2 runs. The more you maintain it, the longer it will perform. I think you can get away with only cleaning once a week. YMMV. They give you a really handy tool that makes cleaning the brush and filter a low effort job. Any robo-vac is going to require scheduled home maintenance. Some people say it will scratch your floors. The wheels are rubber, however... the front caster wheel is the culprit. Keep it clean and free of debris and it should be fine. It doesn't scratch my floors, but don't take my word for it.

Best Botvac Out There
I normally don't take the time to leave detailed reviews, but this product is worth it. To begin, I've owned a Neato Botvac Connected for about 4 years and before that a BOBSweep for about 5 minutes. Hands down "Dee", our new Ecovacs Deebot T8 AIVI botvac is the best I've owned. We've had her about (why we assign gender to a robot is beyond me) 3 weeks and it has been relatively effortless to have her. We also purchased the Ecovacs auto-empty station, which I'll include in my analysis. Conditions Dee works in: we have a 4000 sq ft ranch-style house on an acreage with 2 dogs. Our has has a variance of hardwood floors and throw rugs as well as linoleum floors in our mudroom. The one main home mess insurgent is Zeus, our 125-lb, 2 yr old Great Pyrenees pup who is a shedding machine of spun cotton-like hair, especially in the Spring. He is also a bull in a China closet. Positives of the Deebot: AI- the Deebot has an exceptional AI that allows it to navigate effortlessly in the above described environment. Dee has only gotten stuck once on a shag throw rug that looks like a reject from the 70s. Otherwise, she has not gotten stuck in the 3 weeks we've owned her. Floor Plan mapping/ Navigation- like many have commented, this took us several times to get straight. My recommendation is to follow the instructions and leave all the doors open to the rooms you want Deebot to map and let it do it's thing. We did this and now close off rooms I don't want cleaned every time due to lack of use. However, they are in the AI's map in case we need to add them in. I have not experienced Dee getting lost under couches, etc due to the lack of a flashlight on it, as some other reviewers have indicated. She navigates just fine under our couches and other impediments. Speaking of getting under things, I really like the lower profile of Dee as compared to our Neato Botvac Connected. Dee also goes over high points with no issues whatsoever. App Use- the ecovacs app is exceptional. It immediately connected to our Deebot and it's functionality is very good. I've included a pic of it to give you a sense of it. You can track in real time where your Deebot is at when working, use as it as a spy with it camera and have it go to a pre-designated room to be used in area clean mode. Scheduling your Deebot is easy and has been pain-free. I have Dee clean our upper floor every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday due to the hair insurgent I mentioned earlier. dee responds to return to base command and auto empty without hesitation. Suction- our Deebot has very impressive suction and one of big reasons I bought this model with the extensive dog hair I am up against. Dee varies her suction based on cleaning surface, which at first I thought she was malfunctioning, but I assume this conserves battery life. We're virtually hair free after each cleaning. Noise- One of the pleasant surprises, although not a key consideration in buying the Deebot was how quiet the Deebot is. I can take phone calls with Dee working in the background, or if you want no noise, it is easy to pause cleaning until you tell it to resume. Maintenance- as with any botvac you will buy, the Deebot will require maintenance. I generally clean the beating brush, vacuum out the dust bin area and wipe Dee down weekly. This is largely due to my hair insurgent dog and long haired wife, all of which their hair gets caught up in the beating brush. Your experiences may vary. I also have to physically clean out the dust bin every few days, because my dog's poofy hair gets caught up in the it and the auto empty station cannot suck it all out effectively. I believe my hair situation is an extreme one,it may work just fine if you don't have a big hairy oaf loping through your house, shedding. Battery Life- outstanding. As with many other botvacs, will head to the recharge station, which it has no problem finding, when it needs to take on juice. Just follow the instructions on placement of the recharge or auto empty station. I would highly recommend (at additional cost) the auto emptying station, despite the additional cost. It's worth it and saves maintenance, in my experience. Instructions- we very good. I am a relatively tech savvy middle aged man with previous experience with botvacs and could understand all of the instructions quite well. I cannot comment on tech support as I have not had to use it (hopefully not at all). Cost- I paid $699.00 for my Deebot and an additional $249.00 for the auto empty station in Mar 2021. Great value, based on my experience so far. My experience has been, you get what you pay for (see the BOBSweep I bought for $200.00 previously). Build/ Long Term Reliability- the design of this botvac is very good. I don't see any glaring design flaws that could impact on long term reliability. Again, the key is performing good maintenance on your system. Mopping- cannot comment on this; haven't used yet. In summary, I can give my seal of approval on this product. It actually has improved my quality of life, unlike some other products or gadgets we often shell $$ out for. If it fits into your budget, well worth your money.

Performs better than expected
We finally got into the Robot Vacuum market and Picked this model due to general reviews. After a couple of days of working with the device, I'm going with an initial rating of 5 stars. It arrived earlier than promised, it was packaged extremely well. Instructions were well written and everything functioned as stated. Assembly out of the box is quick. Pull off the protective films, pop in two brushes, check that all packing is removed, plug in the wall charger, and set the device onto the charger. Add the App to your phone, and go from there. Start to finish was about two hours for us, but over an hour was a glitch with iPhone, not the software. Once we got the iPhone set up properly, the setup took under five minutes. We allowed the device to charge for maybe four hours, then used the app to send it on a random clean. The first two times we tried, something seemed to glitch between the app and the device, but when we tried a fresh load of the app and a restart, the device slowly mapped the entire house. It marked a noted 181 obstacles (cords, sheets or blankets lying down on the floor from the bed, etc.) and showed where these were on a 'map' of your home. You have the option of clearing the obstacles and letting it run again, or closing the task. It vacuumed better than expected. The tank was disgustingly full. We erased the initial map it made and started fresh on day two, just to set the area we wanted the device to vacuum. We closed the doors to rooms we did not want on it's 'map'. On Day two its performance was again extremely good to perfect. Even after an initial vacuuming by ourselves with a high quality vac, this device filled its tank again with dust and dog hair. I can see daily vacuuming with this device will improve the dust levels in our house. Its now set to vacuum daily starting at 11:30, which is the time our dog likes to sleep. (he does not approve of the vacuum). . It's first tie out was on the minute, and it took a little over 80 minutes to vacuum all the areas we wanted cleaned. The device froze up once -- I had my recliner up and it went under the foot of the recliner, and, I hate say, the dust sensor was overwhelmed. I had to wipe the dust off , but once I did, the device finished its circuit and parked to charge. I wish I had bought this a long time ago.

Do NOT recommend
Unfortunately higher tech means more opportunities to breakdown. We've had our bot for 6 months and it is the worst robot vacuum I have ever had. The last 2 we had were Sharks and those were amazing! We wanted a combo vacuum and mop and that was a mistake. This one seems to get stuck all the time between our carpet and random locations. It does not hold much dirt and needs to return to empty, as I have a household with dogs and kids. It also doesn't seem to know when it needs to empty all the time. The mop, I honestly don't see a difference when I just run the vacuum vs vac and mop. I have not tried just mop because I don't want it to just move dirt around. Maybe a system where they are 2 completely different systems, one vacuums when it's done the other mops. But now the system will not complete a full once through cleaning .... The battery gets down to 23/30% and it start turning off in the middle of the task and will not go back to dock and charge. The Internet says I need a new battery. I have not had this product for a year and it needs a new battery? Oh the solution system also never worked. I used the ecovacs recommended solution and Internet troubleshooting tips with a syringe to make sure the tubing system was working, this was brand new. I shouldn't have to do that. It should work. This is an expensive product that has caused me so much stress when it is supposed to help decrease my stress.

Does great job, fully automated, simple 'START CLEANING' from phone app.
A great buy, super happy, easy set-up and install phone app then tell it go clean here, there or everywhere based on map! The ECOVACS DEEBOT T30C has really strong suction and does a great job picking up dust and pet hair. The self-cleaning station makes it so easy since it empties itself and even washes and dries the mop. When it is used, it is quiet and runs smoothly. We an pick the area(s) we want to clean and does it very well. while avoiding steps. I was impressed with how well it cleans along edges and corners, which most vacuums miss. It saves a lot of time and makes the house feel much cleaner. Iโm very happy with this purchase.

GREAT product! Clean floors on demand!
Absolutely FANTASTIC! It is a bit noisy in the early hours of the morning when it starts. But you can start it whenever it suits you best. It cleans really well, easy to maintain and you can set your daily schedule as you wish. If you have an accidental spill, you can just send your deebot to clean it. LOVE it! I have had it for more than a month now, I wanted to ensure it was good before I posted a review. You can definitely make your life little easier with this robot vacuum.
