I love this player
Are there some minor glitches with selecting and playing music back - yes. Is the OLED display a little hard to see when it is bright outside - yes. Do any of these things make me want to return it - NO!Does it sound awesome? YES! Even though it does not have EQ, I found that it doesn't need it - even when using my $50 Sony MDR-XB50-BI's (which I love). I love this player despite of its minor rough edges. I love how it takes two 128GB cards! I finally have an awesome sounding player that can hold a LOT of music.I am still running 1.0 firmware (I am scared to update it, since it sounds so good). This player is great for exercising, since it is small. It's great for the car - I found that the line out to my car sounds better then if my car was playing the digital source files on its own. It's great for the office too!Minor things that sort-of bug me that can probably be fixed in software:- It is a must to organize your music into folders! - this player does not have a "database" to select by artist/album (Can someone say "may the powers that be please grant us Rockbox on this unit?")- When on random mode, and you skip songs quickly, the player sometimes tries to play the next file (with no audio), but will go to the next track. No big deal, since you can't hear it, and you're on random anyways :-) It only adds a delay of about 1 or 2 seconds when it happens. THe problem seems to be related when switching from 24/96k files to 16/44.1k files. This can sometimes happen if you are playing a 24/96k file and select a 16/44.1k file through the folder interface. The player will cycle through all of the files in the new folder and start playback on the first file in the folder. Again, all of this you can't hear - you just have a delay (depends upon how many files are in the folder) and the first file starts to play.- When switching from 16/44.1k files to 24/96k files there is a slight "pop" sound you can hear. It is not that loud and very brief, so it doesn't bug me too much.Update 6/22/16:The powers that be have granted us Rockbox! Do a Google search for "ROCKBOX-VORTEX" Have fun!!!

Superb sound, nice player but very basic software interface
There's a lot that's good about this little player. The sound through headphones is superb, much better than your iPhone or iPod and every bit as good as the Fiios X3 that I also bought. By far the biggest advantage over the similarly priced Fiios is that this little player can hold two 128GB MiniSD cards and that gives you room enough for thousands of Lossless and Flac files. The Fiios can only accommodate one 128GB card so that's half the storage. I also have to say what's not so good. The software interface on the Xduoo is simply basic, maybe even a bit primitive. You CAN click to a folder and find an album and play it through. That's plenty good enough for a lot of people. You can also shuffle ALL SONGS on the player. What you can't do is make playlists or shuffle and play only the songs of one particular artist or genre -- all of the things we're used to doing with IOS-based iTunes. I must add the Fiios interface is not very much better. This limits the way I listen to music but if you simply like to store a LOT of songs or albums in full fidelity or play HD albums with high bit rates (like the 96/24 albums you find on HDTRACKS) then you'll like this good-looking little player.

Great device
The interface isn't fancy, old school LED. But the audio is great and with two SD card slots available for up to 256gb you can store all your lossless music.Update: 8 months since purchase having problems with 3.5mm headphone jack. Sound only coming thru one side unless I push down on headphone tip. I have read that it may be a soldering issue.

but when I do - it is when I am utterly disappointed. Before I purchased this player
I don't always wright reviews, but when I do - it is when I am utterly disappointed. Before I purchased this player, I have conducted extensive search and was quite excited to start using this one.Let me just list all the things I found wrong with this device:1) Minor - overall dimensions of screen, that actually displays information is almost twice as small as actual screen size. I think this is a minor thing to mention, b/c you can kind of see it in preview pictures and in comparison to other defects this is nothing, really.2) Minor issue - Screen timeout is too short – there is not even enought time for full text (folder name that contains a song) to be displayed and read before the screen exits. By the way, why exit this particular screen on timeout to begin with?3) Minor issue - Text scroll speed is too slow.4) Major - battery life is very short. Few to several hours (not in one sitting though, but throughout 3-4 days of short usage). And no, I didn't forget to turn it off during one of these days.5) Major - Poor functionality design: Random mode doesn’t go back to already played songs. If one want to find out what song has played before in random mode – there is no way to do that. Going back plays another random song. But you can play another random song by going forwards. Why not introduce additional functionality by letting a user go back? Other players do that.6) Major - Poor functionality design: Unable to resume the song it was playing before turning off from where the song was playing. Some songs are an hour long. To they expect me to scroll towards where I have left off? Nonsense. OTher players can do that.7) Major - Screen brightness: Screen was making the impression that it would have an advantage in comparison to multi-colored displayed. Nope. During the daylight, not even under direct sunlight – almost impossible to see what is written on the screen, unless covering with a palm of your hand. Basically, impossible to see anything while driving during sunny day, b/c two hands are required.5) Fatal - Player freezes up often for no reason at all and doesn’t turn on/off sometimes for hours. The only ways to turn it back on is several attmpts to plug in hi amp power (not PC usb, but wall outlet USB) with combination wih FACTORY reset. Most of the times you just have to let it sit for half a day before it decides to resurrect itself.6) Fatal - often after battery died it does nothing but flashes battery sign with lightning on it and can’t do anything for hours. Only fix is to keep it plugged in to power for extensive time period (about an hour).8) Fatal - Sometimes (too often) - when playmode is set to random and the scope is all songs, player instead of all songs only fetches few to several hundred songs that it plays "random" mode on. Last time it was mostly folders that start with letters C and D.Worst purchase I have made in my life.Needless to say, my review is based on a single item, which might be defective, yet this is the experience I share with you, folks.
