KONGCloud E-Collar for Cats and Dogs, Small

I used this for my 13-lb cat who had a cystotomy (so, lower belly incision). For him the size small was perfect. He was completely unable to reach his incision.He wore this comfortably for over a week. We took it off only to allow him to groom himself, and sometimes nap, under strict supervision. He did not seem to mind it so much, and he was able to walk around, sleep, use the litterbox, and eat and drink. He could still reach his back feet and the end of his tail when trying to groom, so this would not be useful for injuries or incisions in those locations (on a cat at least).Fully inflated, it was a little too tight, so I let out some air. We did use this with his regular collar (but we took off all the tags/bells). As others mentioned, you do need to make sure the ends of the collar meet where you connect the velcro, otherwise the cat could get something caught in the gap. If it fits snugly and properly it should not easily spin around. It also stayed inflated for the entire week, only losing a small amount of air but not enough to make it ineffective. My cat also tried to scratch himself with his back feet, obviously hitting the collar, but he never punctured it. He managed to get it off twice but only because he was trying to get somewhere that he wouldn't fit and his head slipped out, but it took a lot of effort and it wasn't due to him actually trying to get it off on purpose.The only issue we had was that the valve was in a terrible location and would NOT stay pushed in. It would either be right in his face or underneath digging into his neck/chest. Another helpful review suggested tucking the valve under the blue cover. This worked perfect and allowed it to be out of the way and less likely to dig into him.Overall this product is worth a try. It worked perfect and made his recovery go a lot smoother (for both him AND us!). It won't work for all pets and all injuries/incisions, but for the low price I would give it a try as an alternative to a traditional e-collar.

What a great alternative to those torturous plastic cones! My little dog was sent home from surgery with a plastic cone that not only seemed to weigh as much as her head, but had a Velcro closure that made a horribly loud sound that probably sounded worse from inside the cone and invariably got some of her hair (she's a poodle) stuck to it. Ouch! The cone only added more insult to her injury, and she looked like the saddest little thing in the world with it on.I'm so glad I found this KONG Cloud. It was a major relief when she made no fuss whatsoever when I put it on her. The Cloud is like a mini airplane pillow. The Velcro closure is not very loud and it is far enough away from her hair that none gets caught in it. She can easily eat and drink with it without getting any food or water on the collar. Once she finds the right position, she sleeps on it like a pillow provided she is in one of her little pillow type beds. At night and on flatter surfaces, she can't seem to find a way to be comfortable when the pillow is fully inflated. I thought about deflating it a bit, but doing so enlarges the opening which increases the possibility of her slipping out of it.She is not able to reach the incision on her belly, but is still able to roam around like her normal little self with out banging into chair legs and door frames, or scraping it along the floors or grass while sniffing. My dog weighs 8 lbs and the small fits her perfectly.Pros:Very soft. The cover is made of a slightly furry material.Inflatable, so it can be stored flat.Cover is removable for washing.Dog's collar can be threaded through straps inside the neck hole to prevent the collar from slipping over the head. My dog doesn't even try to dislodge the collar, but I use this feature at night just in case.Cons:Keeps the head raised a little to high at night. My dog can't seem to find a comfort zone in that regard.I still feel most comfortable with her wearing the plastic cone at night.Other color options would be nice.As happy as I am with this collar, I think my dog is even happier.

i had my dog spayed. She is a Parsons Jack Russell Terrier. The size was exactly as said. I was worried it would be too small but it fit perfect. It didn't work out well for this surgery. She was still able to get to her stitches even with the thing fully inflated! She's very limber though and as per her breed they are very determined little dogs, so she went with a soft traditional shape e-collar. I am keeping this one just in case down the road she needs it. I have one for my Golden Retreiver and it was wonderful for him after he had surgery. The groomers filet his ear nearly off his head. It was an accident and they did the right thing by rushing him to the Vet Hospital and called us on the way there. We arrived minutes after they did. We have used this groomed for years and she was just balling her eyes out she felt so bad! I was of course worried for my fur any but wanted to consoul the groomer too. She never meant to hurt him. Her hand slipped and the shears got him. His hearing is 100% fine, it was mainly just the skin severed. They covered the surgery, follow up care, medications and of course the bath and hair cut. He's 100% fine now. This was a few years back and he healed really quickly.I would definitely say this e-collar is great for certain situations. What I really liked is that it doesn't block their vision and they have no issues when eating or drinking.

the collar came a few days later than expected.however, size S is perfect for my big cat. she's been wearing it for over one week now and the fur is starting to grow back. she sleeps with the collar on and so far she's not behaving like a sad cat or showing any discomfort.it's really a good choice.
