These weights and the way they’re designed to hold down the poles, work amazingly in the wind. We ended up buying two sets to hold down our canopy, since we have pretty strong winds where we live. Definitely recommend and they’re worth the buy.

Perfect for our canopy. When we camp in our travel trailer, we need a shelter to sit under while we eat. We took out our trailer / canopy during a very rainy weekend (it literally rained from Thursday - Sunday while we were camping), and we used these plates to hold down the canopy instead of digging stakes - and it sure worked. We used two sets of 4 - so there were two weights on each leg of our canopy. I really loved that we didn't have strings coming off of our canopy (the way we would with stakes) - you don't need to be tripping over ropes when you're crossing the campsite at night to use the restroom! These are simple and not too heavy, and they hold up in the wind. I would recommend these to anyone.

I live where it's real windy, and my tents always like to fly and move around. This is also perfect for people when you're on the concrete. So yeah, it helped add a little. Weight to the pose.

These work great but spend a bit more and get the one with the strap to hold them together. They always slide all over my car.

I bought these for tailgating awning. Work as expected!! No mess either. Switched to these from sand bags!

UPDATE: I bought a second set and stacking works much better. I definitely recommend at least 2 per leg. I thought about using something heavier but I'm getting a bit older now and don't want to strain my back. I carry both sets in a rolling backpack to make transport easier since I do 3 farmers markets a week. While these did fail me in a sudden wind storm of 20-25mph, they were never meant for winds more than about 1-10 mph. That said, most of the complaints I've seen about these are about exactly that. These are 5# weights which means that your entire pop-up is only held down by it's own weight plus 20#. If you want to be safe in winds fresher than a slightly breezy day, then buy more than one set and stack them. Use stakes if you can, tie up to something or even other vendors for more stability but don't expect these to save you in a healthy wind. I'm definitely planning on having a spare set in case of a sudden change in the wind again. I love these little weights and really love that they'll slide right over pretty much any pop-up leg. And they fit nicely in my rolling backpack with my tarps and clamps. Big bonus!

Keeps our canopy secure, no more need to use stakes, and makes setup faster. I wouldn’t trust these in strong wind, but our 10’ canopy was stable under a light breeze.

So much easier to use than pounding spikes into the grass. And of course, perfect for location that do not allow spikes. Several friends have seen me use them and plan on ordering some for themselves.
