My sister has purchased the product in the past for feral cats and recommended it. Its a little high priced but it appears durable, and is exactly as described. I am using it as an emergency shelter for my cat if he finds himself outside and needs shelter fast when he is under my back deck/porch in NC, as we live in mountains. I put an old t-shirt of mine in with some treats to attract him to go inside, which he did.

The product is exactly as described, but I feel it could be priced lower for a plastic item. I live in Florida and it would have been a perfect solution to house the feral cat I care for. Unfortunately he didn't agree. I will probably donate it to the Humane Society.

I purchased the Kat Kabin as outdoor shelter for a stray cat. It is a perfectly designed outdoor shelter, lightweight, compact, warm, easy to clean and keeps wind, rain and snow out. Our indoor cat fell in love with it so I ordered another Kat Kabin for her. If you are looking for a well designed indoor cat bed or outdoor shelter, this is what you should buy!

Not usable as an outdoor shelter in any climate where snow is possible

I purchased the KatKabin about one month and half ago, and it's been in use for about a month. I live in Michigan, so we have not had any extreme weather conditions to speak of yet, and the Kabin has been protected on my porch the whole time. I noticed a couple of days ago that the plastic cracked on the outside, and there is no good reason for it. I'm using the winter warmer already, since we have had some cool nights, and I can see the warmer through the crack. I'm glad I had the warmer, or there would be nothing to stop cold air from entering in. I contacted the company and they are sending me a new outer panel. I have read that this happened to other people as well, so it's pretty disappointing consider how much it costs. The cat seems to really like it though, and beside the crack, everything has been great with it. I think the company needs to come up with a better plastic covering for it, since it should not have cracked like that.

I ordered this for my cat Madison. She is a indoor cat that goes outside on a harness and when fall and winter comes she gets so depressed I thought this might allow her to go outside for short periods of time. The first one arrive broken. I assumed it was a shipping issue because there was a lot of empty space in the box and it appeared that someone had set something heavy on it. CSN was very helpful they have great customer service! They sent me a second one, it arrived in perfect condition I set it outside my 7.8 lb cat started to investigate it and stood on her hind legs resting her front two paws on the top of it. It made a loud crack and broke in the side the exact same place the first one is cracked. There is not a interior wall so the crack exposes it to the outside and is sharp enough to cut her. Not to mention she associates it with the loud noise now and won't go near it. All this being said if they fixed this issue I would try it again!

I purchased this for my cat who needs to spend more time outside due to the arrival of our new baby. He investigated it and then wanted nothing to do with it! He loves toys and has used all cat creature comforts that we have purchased for him in the past. This is the first item he does not like. I also pulled the foam pad out and a piece of it broke off from being exposed to moisture, not even WET. This is a complete waste of money. I purchased this item from another site for $99 with free shipping. It was still a colossal waste.

I will not get one of these again. Water gets in through the seam at the top and at the ends. The bedding inside was soaked after a good rain. Not good for outdoor use unless it is protected from rain and snow. The Kitty Tube is a much better cat house. It comes with the insulation too. No additional charge for that. I have a couple of them and they are a much better outdoor cat house than the KatKabin. I still have this KatKabin but have to put a garbage bag around it to keep the water out. The outside surface of the KatKabin is not UV resistant so it may look nice at first, but after a year outside it isn't so pretty anymore. The old design was better. Get rid of the seam. It's just a leak point.
