Do they come with tags? and also calvin klein on actual underwear tag?

Mine did! And it does say Calvin Klein. They came with all the same tags and packaging as the ones I got from Nordstrom so I'm pretty sure they're legit.

I had to open the package to try a pair on (over underwear!) and find out that they were the wrong size. Can I still return?

Yes! Just package them back the best you can. Try them on over a pair for sage and clean measure.

Is the string soft or will it cause irritation?

I haven't had any issues and yes it is soft. But again it's my personal opinion. I hope this help!
