BUYER BEWARE!
In March of 2013, I purchased a LIVESTRONG LS16.9T treadmill from a local party who no longer needed the machine. The unit was in excellent condition, having been used as a walking device for someone of advanced age. Since acquiring the treadmill, my brother and I used the machine without any issues, until 1/25/14, when as I was walking at 3.2 mph at an incline of 10% (my regular workout routine that I had performed on this same treadmill countless times), and about 30 mins into my workout, the treadmill instantaneously accelerated and I was thrown onto my head and left shoulder with tremendous force. I temporarily lost feeling in my right side, which thankfully subsided, as well as suffered a concussion and whiplash, the former resulting in persistent lightheadedness, and the latter producing discomfort and stiffness in the right side of my neck that just recently subsided. This, as you can probably imagine, was not only completely unexpected, but horrifying to me. I have used a treadmill as my cardio workout of choice for 14 years, and never in my wildest dreams expected anything like this was even a possibility. The treadmill literally accelerated to what must have been maximum speed without any warning whatsoever, and before I realized what had happened I was bashed into the treadmill belt head-first with such force that I am honestly surprised I didn't break my neck and/or lose consciousness.I suffered a concussion, whiplash that resulted in persistent neck discomfort on the right side, and several brush burns. Three days after I visited the Urgent Care Center, I began to experience lightheadedness when changing position, and immediately went to the ER, where I was diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome.I then contacted LIVESTRONG, telling them my story and kindly requesting restitution in the amount of my medical bills and the cost of the replacement walking treadmill I purchased with a limit 4 mph motor (as I can never bring myself to use a treadmill with a potential to accelerate past 4 mph again after this devastating malfunction). They asked me for all supporting documentation, which I promptly emailed to them (9 pages worth, all labeled and organized). The total reimbursement requested was $1,483.30, which was comprised of medical bills related to the accident (CAT scan, ER visit, etc) and the replacement walking treadmill. Then, shortly thereafter, Johnson Health Tech, the parent company of LIVESTRONG, denies my request for reimbursement, which shocked me. I have been a bodybuilder since 1989, owned my own fitness company since 1997, and there was zero (NO) operation error that caused the treadmill to suddenly accelerate 30 mins into a workout, as my fitness experience level and 10 months using the LIVESTRONG machine in question with no issues should attest to, yet an accident that could have been fatal is brushed off by Johnson Health Tech in what I consider to be a legalistic and heartless way.Buyer beware, please, in relation to products produced by Johnson Health Tech or any of its subsidiaries (LIVESTRONG, Matrix, Vision Fitness, Horizon Fitness, AFG, Merit Fitness, and Tempo Fitness), because my accident was NOT a result of user error, and I implore anybody who is considering one of Johnson Health Tech’s products to make an informed decision before purchasing, as my story is real, caused me many sleepless nights due to the concussion, and Johnson Health Tech responded to my serious accident by brushing my aside in one short paragraph.By the way, the lady who contacted me on behalf of Johnson Health Tech asked that I provide her with any more info that could change Johnson Health Tech’s mind after they rejected my request, and once I did, nobody ever replied. Then, because they knew I was not satisfied with their decision, on March 26th Johnson Health Tech sent me a survey from their President Nathan Pyles, which I filled out, and once again, never heard a word from anybody.Buyer beware!

shipping terrible
Good treadmill, but don't expect the shipment to come in good condition. 3 times through 2 different freight carriers and had to refuse every time due to either extensive damage to packaging/treadmill or obvious vandalism to box/treadmill. Finally got a refund and purchased direct through manufacturer with shipping and assembly included. This wasn't much better and still took 2 separate deliveries to get it in the house, and still have damaged parts, which livestrong is sending replacements for at no additional charge.. Think twice before having an item delivered by freight carrier, they do not respect the packages they are delivering..

Keeps workouts interesting
I purchased this treadmill primarily because the Passport system would keep the workouts interesting. I am not a treadmill runner, as I typically find the workout especially boring, even with a TV show or movie on. So far I have logged over 200 miles on the treadmill with no issues.Shipping:I will echo the complaints with the shipping of the treadmill. When the treadmill arrived, there was only the driver trying to offload it. I helped him get it into the garage, but the treadmill is especially heavy. Consider this, and get the appropriate amount of help if you intend to move it up or down stairs.Running surface:I was concerned that the running surface would be too springy, but the deck surface is nice and firm. I have had to switch shoes from a minimal shoe to something with a more substantial sole, as the first pair I started running in would get too hot and cause my feet to overheat.Passport:I have most of the videos. They all feature spectacular scenery. The treadmill will adjust up or down slightly to simulate running uphill, or leveling out. The two that come with the treadmill will repeat automatically, however, the ones I purchased from the site will end after approximately 30-35 minutes (but may vary for quicker or slower pace). This is nice for shorter runs, but not for longer runs. I have not seen a patch or fix for the video as mentioned in a previous comment, but would like to learn more about when the fixes are made for the other videos. The site for purchasing the videos is fairly simplistic, and it is tough to identify the appropriate contact information for customer support for the Passport system. I prefer the routes where you see a lot of people, such as Chicago, the Pacific Northwest, and Italy. The more nature-based routes are very nice looking, but don't seem to pass the time quite as quickly.I wish the Passport would also automatically track or log runs. It seems a bit silly that it doesn't, as there is already a thumbdrive with all the videos installed on the player. The music on the videos is not great, but there are some ambient sounds tied to the location of the video, such as a dog barking, or a siren wail. I usually listen to other music while running.Overall, I strongly recommend the treadmill for people who can not handle the boredom of a traditional treadmill.

Great treadmill.
Received our treadmill about a week ago and have already put about 50 miles on it. Very sturdy and quiet with an easy to navigate console. The passport feature with a 42 inch TV set-up is amazing. Really makes the treadmill work out fly by with beautiful scenery and fun city sites. The only downside with the passport feature is the additional purchased videos. These additional videos do not have a continuous loop after 30 minutes, unlike the 2 programs which were provided with the treadmill. Have been advised by the company that they are in the process of working on a "patch" to correct this issue. Have contacted Livestrong support through email with a few questions and have had very good response in short amount of time, unlike my previous experience with our old "Smooth" treadmill, which had never responded to any of my inquires.Shipping was "fair", arrived in within 10 days, but only one delivery man for a 400 pound treadmill. I had to help off load, it would have been a problem if my wife was the only one at home. The box was rather beat up and there were some "good" scratches to the console, but fortunately all functions worked properly.
